Federal banking regulators are expanding the power of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), demanding records and testimony from higher-education accreditation agencies as part of an investigation into possible “unlawful acts and practices in connection with accrediting for-profit colleges.”

An article from the Asheville Citizen Times was put in my inbox over the weekend titled, “Veteran engineer sees the value of Common Core field testing”.
It’s penned by a man named Ben Owens.
At the bottom of the article is this text:
“Benjamin C. Owens is a 2014 Hope Street Group National Teaching Fellow and math and physics teacher at the Tri-County Early College in Murphy.”

NCSPIN: Fitzsimon thinks college should be free… because NC Constitution.
On the latest edition of NCSPIN, the topic of the loud and ridiculous protesters interrupting an event at UNC was brought up.
During the conversation, Chris Fitzsimon says that he thinks college tuition should be ‘free’.
Yeah, mm Ok. Nothing is free.

Jazz Jennings Shorter: How Dare Those Parents Actually Parent
I’ve been seeing this story about a ‘school’ who canceled a reading of Jazz Jennings book in my social media feeds. I finally decided to read one and just wow. The narrative was so thick you need a machete to cut through it.
The Advocate article also links to Jenning’s “eloquent column”. I read that too.
Let me summarize Jazz Jennings “eloquent column”: How dare those parents actually parent.
Ok, back to the Advocate column. This is a teachable moment in media bias, people, so let’s get our Political Correctness media checklist out.

Agitators were invited to the White House for a Christmas Party.
They also met with Attorney General Loretta Lynch. The same AG Lynch who is now investigating the arrest of Clock Boy and who yesterday said that “actions predicated on violent” talk about muslims will be “prosecuted”.
