@WRAL Doubles Down On Bashing Common Core Opposition
Yesterday, I pointed out the remarkable attempt at spin and shuttuppery by WRAL on the Common Core public comment that went on at the NC General Assembly: What @WRAL Doesn’t Tell You: Two Thirds Spoke In Opposition to Common Core
WRAL picked the one speaker who showed up with an over-sized Bible to use as their graphic to represent those speaking in opposition to Common Core. This is your local media, people. Go leave them a comment.
Today, they’ve doubled down. Here’s a screenshot of that same story now: Continue reading
What @WRAL Doesn’t Tell You: Two Thirds Spoke In Opposition to Common Core
There’s a gap in the media coverage on the Common Core hearing held today at the NC General Assembly:
MT @LadyLiberty1885: Public rips #CommonCore — 2/3 opposed, @WRAL reports more on who likes it. http://t.co/vFq74QQenq #stopcommoncore

WRAL did a bang up job taking the bulk of quotes from the minority, but well funded, side of the house. Continue reading
The Read To Achieve Debacle
Kristin Blair at Carolina Journal has an article up this morning that points out the issues that have come along with Sen. Berger’s Read To Achieve law. More Quality NC Dem Recruiting
The NC Dems sure are on a quality candidate campaign these days. From The guy who couldn’t win American Idol to Peter Griffin. The win is strong with the NC Dems.
Here’s yet another example as they attempt to fill the seat of recently deceased Senator Nesbitt.- what amounts to an open call ad in a local news outlet:
Want to serve in #NCGA? @BuncombeDems invite candidates to run (must live in District 49) http://t.co/YGiOOjjwPR #avlelect #ncpol

Feels like more of that special #branding. Hey, at least Buncombe’s HQ isn’t in jeopardy. Yet. Continue reading

CCSSO President Atkinson Starts Campaigning Early
NC State Superintendent and President of the CCSSO Dr. June Atkinson recently spent time speaking to the Carteret County Democrat party. Atkinson assaulted the current legislature for teacher pay while conveniently leaving out the role both she and former Governor Perdue played in freezing teacher pay in the first place.
Despite having the highest graduation rate in the history of the state, North Carolina’s public education system needs support to survive the recent wave of changes enacted by the General Assembly, State Superintendent of Public Instruction June Atkinson said on Saturday to county Democrats.
