NC Parents, Who Is Teaching Your Child?
Dr. Terry Stoops over at John Locke has an article revolving around a particular teacher who is familiar to readers of this blog: Todd Warren. Continue reading

#SB480 Would Block Politicking In Schools. NCAE and Progress NC’s ‘AimHigher’ Hardest Hit?
Senate bill 480 seeks to limit the political activity of school officials, administrators and teachers on school campuses.
News and Record hilariously quotes ‘just a Spanish teacher’ Todd Warren and omits his occupying, socialism, Moral Monday arrest and involvement with the NCAE’s protest arm, Organize 2020.

Wake Board of Ed Public Comments Choreographed by Wake NCAE
Following up from yesterday’s article where we found out Keith Sutton thinks he’s the same as Eric Garner somehow, it was pointed out to me that the public comments section was choreographed by the Wake NCAE.
What a leftist circus. #WBOC Commissioner leads #NCAE choreographed comments => Wake Board of Ed Official Meeting http://t.co/AObHEt3iuO

CMS Middle School Distributes Sales Tax Referendum And Voting Info Flyers At Open House
A middle school in the Charlotte Mecklenburg school system distributed two flyers to parents this past week. One was an informational flyer on a sales tax referendum for the county, the other was information on voting. Several parents reached out to me and sent me copies of the flyers. See the flyers here.
These are the same flyers that were objected to by County Commissioner Bill James that this constituted political activism by the school. I covered that story and I agree with that assessment. These flyers, whether created by an outside entity or not, were distributed by official channels and in many cases on school property. That’s using tax dollars for political advocacy purposes. More Activism In NC Schools
More fliers and activism in North Carolina schools. This time it’s not an NCAE/Organize2020 protest flier that went home in the backpacks of our children. This time it is Charlotte Mecklenburg schools and a slanted flier about a proposed sales tax hike. Charlotte Observer has a write up here, which of course doesn’t ask questions about the validity of the content of the flier.
“CMS spokeswoman Kathryn Block told the Observer the document “was developed as an informational document only.”
– Charlotte Observer
Really? Who developed it and why is the informational document not providing where you drew your information from?

Char-Meck tweeted out to their over 15,000 followers this two-page flier.
Here’s more information about voting and how funds from the sales tax referendum, if approved, could be spent by CMS. http://t.co/CLIB2r0dwl

While the intent to promote the school’s best interests is clear, what is also clear is the bias.

NC Education Protest Group Less Of A Mystery
Over the last 6 months, I’ve attempted to track a protest group named Aim Higher NC. Little public information is available, as the NC Secretary of State only has a name reservation on file for them. Aim Higher has refused to name who funds and runs them. I inquired with NCAE and Organize2020, both said they were not behind the group, which may be technically true, but they are indeed supplying help and resources to Aim Higher. So is Progress NC – in fact, after looking at a recent email from Aim Higher, Progress NC appears to be very involved. Related Read:@AimHigherNC Still A Mystery

@NCAE To Join Occupy Monday’s “Day of Action”
Just what does the NCAE do with teacher dues? Join ‘days of action’ with far Left groups who get media attention by getting arrested maybe? This letter from the NCAE below looks like political activity, not teacher advocacy. In fact, that’s exactly what it is only Larry calls it “education activism”.
Workshops and skills training? Like what? Chanting and holding signs? Learning how to alienate more and more parents with vitriolic antics?
Hey, at least this time they aren’t pulling a day of action in our schools right? Shocked they sent this instead of their protest arm, Organize2020. Continue reading
