What They’re Saying About Education In NC (7/24/15) #NCED
Yes, I’m still on blog vacation, however I have an update on some NC Education issues and an update HB13 (Health assessments).
I’d like to take a moment and apologize if I upset the apple cart with my article the other day. I was particularly hard on Senator Soucek — Sorry about that, but being the voice for ‘we the people’ at times means I have to play bad cop.
Having said that, I might have to play worse cop now, again given what I see restored in HB 13 today. Continue reading

#WBOC’s John Burns Breaks Campaign Promises, Show His Political Biases
One of the biggest campaign promises the “More with Four” Democrats ran on was funding education in Wake County. Apparently they meant funding education ‘over time’. Continue reading

Hey Wake County, Ready To Pay More In Taxes?
Didn’t I warn people to expect that tax hikes were coming? Yep.
What I didn’t expect was the Wake County Commissioners to blink. Continue reading

Public Comments on Proposed $1.4 Billion Wake Cty Schools Budget (Video)
On April 21st, the Wake County School board heard public comment on the proposed $1.4 billion dollar Wake school system budget.
Thanks to WCPSS on Twitter, the portion of the video that shows the public comment starts around the 19 minute mark.
Not a single person opposed this $1.4 Billion budget, nor did they ask for a full accounting of the current budget and expenditures. Continue reading

Wake Commissioner Representing The Citizens By Blocking Them?
One new Wake County Commissioner appears to have a temper. The other claimed she would represent and work with all Wake citizens.
How quickly those claims fell flat:

Gird Your Wallet: Wake County Commissioner Races 2014
The Moral Monday candidates took the Wake County Commissioner races last night.
Gird your wallets, people.
Frankly, I don’t know what Wake voters were thinking. These Moral Monday candidates ran under the banner of ‘More with Four’. Well, the ‘More’ in that title is more taxes. When those tax increases, mass transit boondoggles and bond referendums start to come, don’t complain to me. I warned you.
As for the NC GOP. Shame on you. You neglected these races and it look what happened.
These Moral Monday candidates didn’t have enough experience to full a thimble and instead of promoting the Republicans like you did last cycle, you seemingly blew it off. Now these big government, big spending, social justice crusaders are in control of our taxes.
GOOD GOING.
@NCGOP The lack of push behind the Wake comissioner candidates + lack of calling out biased N&O = Why you lost. Those were LAYUPS. #ncpol

Excuse the typo in the above tweet. Note to self, don’t type angry.
Across all four races, the party candidate numbers looked like this:
