ICYMI – LL1885 on Freedom Action Network Radio With Chad Adams

In case you missed it — last week I was on Chad Adams’ show, What Matters on the Freedom Action Network.

The portion of the show I participated in:

Then, Chad speaks to LadyLiberty1885, A.P. Dillon. She says she got into the debate because she doesn’t want men in the bathroom or locker room in with them. She tells Chad she thinks lawmakers added in the minimum wage and reasons for dismissal clauses into the bill. Chad asks about the worst things she has been called because of her stance. A.P. says she has posted a list and explains her kids and her husband have also been attacked online. Chad wonders why there can’t be calm dialogue about the issue. A.P. has the same question.

Check out the details of the show and listen here.

Action Item: Calling Parent With Kids In Durham Public Schools

Action ButtonAttention parents with kids in Durham Public Schools – your child will be made to care.

On April 4th, the Durham Public Schools Board (DPS) issued a resolution opposing HB 2 during their work session.  They plan to act on it at the April 28th meeting.

In the resolution, DPS makes some assertions citing Title IX and the interpretation by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) regarding transgender persons.

WHEREAS, Title IX permits schools to maintain gender-segregated facilities but requires schools to give students access to those facilities on the basis of their gender identity, regardless of the gender they were assigned at birth, and

WHEREAS, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits sex discrimination by state and local government employers, and

WHEREAS, the U.S. Justice Department and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) have recognized that Title VII prohibits gender identity discrimination and requires employers to provide equal access to workplace restrooms and changing facilities consistent with an employee’s gender identity, and

These claims are more myths than assertions. This is not the law.

In fact, the U.S. Department of Education is being sued by multiple states for their ‘interpretation’ of Title IX. North Carolina is included in this Amicus brief against the U.S. Department of Education.

I am told that on April 28th, the the DPS board will vote on this resolution. At that meeting, there will be chance for public comment. Parents, this is where you come in. You cannot sit on the sidelines anymore.

The DPS Board meetings are held in the central office in Downtown Durham, 3rd Floor.  I believe the physical address is 511 Cleveland St., Durham.

Their meetings start at 6:30 p.m.  A sign up will apparently be available for those wishing to make public comments. Depending on how many show up, parents could get 3 minutes to speak or less, if a large number sign up.

Questions should be directed to  June Snyder, the Board liaison, at 919-560-2502 or june.snyder@dpsnc.net.

Yes, I indeed Dropped @PayPal’s Hypocritical Corporate Activist Ass. [Updated]

Selective OutrageLast week, I said I was dropping PayPal’s hypocritical corporate activist ass.  I keep my promises, and after taking days to process out the last of my funds, I closed my account.

Just how hypocritical is PayPal? Very.

They are partners with the Human Rights Campaign, which is driving the bullying tactics both in business and in schools.

These are just some of the groups they have no problem doing business with:

PayPal also apparently lends support to Terrorist organizations?

PayPal is anti-2A? They won’t engage in transactions that cover “(j) ammunition, firearms, or certain firearm parts or accessories,”?

PayPal has been sued — for lost and improperly handled payments? They’re also being sued for signing up people for lines of credit they didn’t ask for or want.

Let’s not forget NC’s very own Congressman Patrick McHenry touring PayPal in March of this year, after Charlotte passed their ordinance. They welcomed him with open arms then.

Many are now asking where I am moving to. There are a lot of vendors to choose from. Some of them I would not choose, like Google Wallet. The last thing anyone needs is Google having YET more information on them like their finances, for example.

I have not completely decided yet, but one alternative looks promising so far — ProPay.

Over at 2nd Vote, they really came through with information on this one, which includes a profile of ProPay and a scoring of where they stand.

The choices are out there and PayPal is now feeling of the heat from their corporate activism — their stock is taking a dive:

UPDATES:
Rep. Stam — I want to help PayPal

Where is PayPal’s World Wide headquarters? Nebraska. Where there are no anti-discrimination laws for gender identity or sexual orientation.

Oh Those ‘Mean’ People Who Don’t Want To Pee With The Opposite Sex

From the ‘Jumping The Shark’ files via WNCN:

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Two people are combating the brewing issues with House Bill 2 by creating a new beer to promote positivity.

Erik Lars Myers, the Founder and Head Brewer of Mystery Brewing Company in Hillsborough and Keil Jansen, the owner and brew-master of Ponysaurus Brewing Company in Durham, are collaborating to make “Don’t Be Mean to People: a golden rule (saison).”

Yes, because HB2  is about being “mean” and not about wanting to feel safe in bathrooms or shower facilities.

These breweries can rest assured no money from my wallet will be spent by this beer drinker on these products or any others they offer.

Hey, question — Do both of these breweries have unisex or gender-free bathrooms? Likely not. They’re so mean!

The shark jumping continues, via WNCN:

One hundred percent of the profits earned from this beer will go to two different organizations.

The first is Equality NC, which promotes equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. The other is QORDS, an organization that hosts overnight summer camps for gay, lesbian, and transgender youth or kids from LGBTQ families.

Coughlin said he expects residents to be open to the new brew because it encourages kindness.

Of course, Equality NC. The far left, Blueprint NC partner and pal of the Human Rights Campaign.

The second organization is missing from the article. Who is it?

Hey, did you know a porn site has blocked North Carolina IP addresses in protest? That story made me laugh so hard I choked on my coffee.  That site is SO mean, denying North Carolinians access to Hot babes XXXX! As if TOR can’t get right around that, for the masturbatory faithful.

Speaking of “mean”, it’s sister ‘hate’ is circling over head courtesy of the NC NAACP, who has given HB2 the name “Hate Bill 2”.  Now there’s the love we expect from the Moral Monday cabal.

From their press release  is a list of factually incorrect statements and a nice dose of hate, which, of course, is because it’s all racist:

  • Hate bill 2 violates the very principle of love of neighbor.  Many people supporting it have not even read it and as a result they are being misled in the name of a misguided interpretation of religion.
  • Hate bill 2 was passed in the spirit of the politics of Jesse Helms reincarnated and designed to use homophobia, race, and class as political wedge issues.
  • Hate bill 2 discriminates against the working poor by taking away municipalities’ ability to demand that contractors raise minimum wages to living wages and pay vacation sick leave and have minority set asides.
  • Hate bill 2 discriminates against on the bases of age, sex, religion, national origin, race, class, and disability because it takes away the ability of north carolinians to file employment discrimination cases in state courts.
  • Hate bill 2 targets and discriminates against the LGBTQ community and creates a hostile community atmosphere.
  • Hate bill 2 is not about protecting children.  This bill is about promoting discrimination and the poisonous brew of racism, classism, and homophobia and we will not stand for it.

Wonka Ordinance

The hate release ends with “Please DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THESE JIM CROW TACTICS.”

For crying out loud, I can almost hear Bully Barber pounding on a lectern somewhere.

Oh no, it’s not about protecting children and women from the illegal and dangerous Charlotte ordinance that would grant predators legal access to facilities to stalk their prey.

No. Not at all. There’s no evidence women and children were in danger in other cities with similar ordinances after all… except there is evidence. Don’t let facts get in the way though.

The charge for this ordinance wasn’t led by a registered sex offender.

No. That’s not it either.

It’s about racism, doncha know? Even though one’s biological sex isnt’ a ‘race’.

Decide for yourselves.

Stick a Fork In Him. I’m Done. [Updated] – #HB2 #NCgov

[Updates at the bottom]

On Monday, an estimated 1,000 or so people came to Raleigh to rally in support of HB2 and our leaders defending it.

On Tuesday, Governor Pat McCrory decided it was time to cave to the Rainbow bullies and their outrage machine via signing Executive Order 93.  The timing. So wonderful! Yes, that’s sarcasm.

But the Governor calls it listening, not caving.

“After listening to people’s feedback for the past several weeks on this issue, I have come to the conclusion that there is a great deal of misinformation, misinterpretation, confusion, a lot of passion and frankly, selective outrage and hypocrisy, especially against the great state of North Carolina,” said Governor McCrory. “Based upon this feedback, I am taking action to affirm and improve the state’s commitment to privacy and equality.” – Governor.NC.gov

But yeah, it’s pretty much caving:

“With this Executive Order, the State of North Carolina is now one of 24 states that have protections for sexual orientation and gender identity for its employees.”

You Will Be Made To CareWe will be made to care… By our Governor. He couldn’t wait for a court to decide.

Nope.

Had to give in the day after the people just rallied to support him — And he wonders why conservatives are so pissed off at him.

Stick a fork in him. I’m done.  You watch, the Left will not be placated. This won’t be enough. The outrage machine will continue, undeterred.

There is even a video statement from the Governor. The page announcing the Executive Order on the Governor’s website also has a transcript of the video.

In this Executive Order, McCrory ‘affirms’ a lot of things. Affirming means something already existed — such as private businesses having their own employment policies.

An Executive Order isn’t law, but from what I understand he can use it to impose rules on state employees. What this order  is really designed to do is go after is the employment section of HB 2, mainly by returning legal challenges to the NC Human Rights Commission. Get ready Governor. If you think this order is going to remove the current legal challenge, you’re going to be sorely mistaken. Wait for it. Another suit will emerge against the state.

I, myself, have mixed feelings. I’m ticked at his timing; way to stab your supporters in the back. On the other hand, the one defense I will make of this Executive Order is that the section dealing with employment should have been its own stand-alone bill. Protections for sexual orientation are good and should have always  been there.

But gender identity?

Define that for me legally please, Governor, and cite the federal law. Oh wait, there isn’t one yet.  The EEOC has put out ‘guidelines‘ to other agencies based on their interpretation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Guidelines are not the law.

Gender dysphoria is real. I’m not saying it’s not. I’m not saying it shouldn’t be taken seriously, but it is an officially recognized and classified mental illness. One that affects an incredible small portion of the population and one that has proven to be fluid — by that I mean the majority of that very small minority tend to ‘transition’ back to their biological sex at some point.  They also suffer a high suicide rate.

What these ‘interpretations’ by agencies like the EEOC arguably do is commit the rest of the population to a group therapy session based on any one person’s mental perception of their sex at any given time. Mental disability is already covered under law, but that’s not enough. Just like forcing someone to bake a cake is not enough.

McCrory’s order arguably translates in the workplace to someone who identifies as Jane one week and John the next can arguably sue if they feel even feel remotely slighted in the workplace.

So who is next? Does anyone really think this is the end of the line anymore?

What will we be adding to the ‘protected’ list under the Civil Rights Act?  An Act, by the way which corrected the most egregious injustices in our country that is now being used to force people of the same-sex to pee in the same room. How far we’ve come.

Will we be making those stricken with addiction of some kind a protected class next? How about pedophiles? Schizophrenics?  These are valid questions.

UPDATE:
I said this wouldn’t be enough for the Left and less than 24 hours after McCrory’s EO announcement, I am proved right.

More updates … as I was saying:

NC Media Can’t Count: #HB2 Edition

From the News and Observer to ABC 11, the NC media has proven time and again they can’t count or really even estimate well.

While our media reported continually on the ‘biggest Moral Monday ever’ each time one of their rallies was held, the media wasn’t so interested in a  huge crowd gathered in Raleigh in support of HB 2.

Media said it was a couple hundred. Other outlets said maybe 500. No one said thousand or more which is more accurate,  given the photos that have emerged and statements from those in attendance.

Clearly, there was closer to a 1,000 on those grounds, but hey.. it’s ‘hundreds’:

Photos taken before the rally actually started in order to give the impression it was small?

By the way, here are the dozen or so protestors who showed up who, according some in attendance, apparently yelled some nasty things those attending the HB2 Support rally:

Oh and by the way, this happened:

Roy Cooper’s best pal.

A line from the movie Working Girl comes to mind here: “Sometimes I sing and dance around the house in my underwear. Doesn’t make me Madonna. Never will.
