Update On Cox Mills HS “TownHall”

Several weeks ago, I reported on a “townhall” that was held at Cox Mills High in Cabarrus county. That “townhall” included political candidates, one of which made a political speech. That candidate is Earle Schecter, the NY transplant running as a Democrat against incumbent Larry Pittman. State Superintendent and CCSSO President, June Atkinson, was also present but Rep. Larry Pittman confirmed to me that he was not informed of this event. I asked the question, was this a Democrat campaign event or a townhall?

The answer is a bit of both.

I’ve received official word from both Cabarrus County Schools AND the Cabarrus Democrat Party. Let’s run this down in order. Continue reading

Southern Poverty Hate Center Labels Moms & Dads as ‘Extremists”

Happy Mother’s Day! You’re an extremist!

The same outfit who created a “hate map” from which would-be mass murderer Floyd Lee Corkins took his targets from has just labeled citizens concerned about what their children are learning in school as ‘extremists’. You could say that you just can’t make this stuff up, but apparently Southern Poverty Law Center can.
Hey @splcenter, are Chicago Teachers Union members extremists too? You incredible jackasses. http://t.co/W8clbPmZSU

No, I’m not kidding. The Southern Poverty Hate Law Center has just completed their circle of hypocrisy and beclownment. Yet another “politicizing” attack on Common Core opposition. Southern Poverty Hate Center is no Arne Duncan. They’re not just aiming at moms, they’re trying to smear the whole lot. Continue reading

Common Core Shutuppery Theme: Politicizing

Over the last few weeks since the North Carolina Common Core legislative study committee (LRC) released their findings, which included a bill to replace the Common Core, we’ve heard sound bite after sound bite from supporters that all contain a theme: Politicizing.

I took one egregious and hypocritical offender to task but wanted to revisit it after I found more video of her comments. I’m talking about Rep. Cotham. At the final meeting of the LRC, Rep. Tricia Cotham (who is a member of Common Core LRC) decided to grandstand and fluff her political feathers while simultaneously degrading the parents and citizens who spoke out against Common Core to the LRC. Continue reading

Wake Schools Grading Participation Trophies

Here comes the participation trophy in Wake County schools for academics. So much for “higher standards”? More like softening the blow for the next wave of disastrous end of course scores and year and grades.

The Wake County School board, famous for their infighting and busing for “socioeconomic diversity” debacle, now are leaving it up to individual schools in Wake county to decide if kids who don’t do their work should get bad grades. No, I’m not kidding.
So who is behind this push? Two far Left racial and social justice activists tied to both Moral Monday and Blueprint NC. Continue reading

Teacher Pay Flier, Signage At A CMS Elementary

Yesterday, two photos were sent to me regarding Olde Providence Elementary school in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school district. These photos had to do with the state of teacher pay in North Carolina and the use of Olde Providence school’s main front sign and a flier sent home with students. More activism involving our kids? It would seem so. Continue reading
