Wake School Board debates version of College Board ‘Diversity Score’ to reassign kids

Archer Leaving Public Schools - school choiceThe Wake County School Board (WCSB) held a work session on July 16 in which they debated for over an hour how to legally reassign kids using metrics that won’t run afoul of the law.

The approach is eerily similar to The College Board’s new ‘Adversity score‘, which uses socioeconomic data on a student as a proxy for race.

WS/Forsyth County high school Teacher charged with sex crimes involving student (UPDATED)

A Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools teacher has been charged with sex crimes involving a student, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Update: On Jan. 18, 2024, the Forsyth County District Attorney’s office dismissed the charges against Weavil due to insufficient evidence.
