Occupy Monday Still Harping On Voter ID

The movement that required you show ID to attend their rally opposing voter ID is planning yet another event. Will ID be required at this one too?

#MoralMarch will protest NC’s new “racist” #VoterID, but you’re req’d to bring photo ID to the march. #ncpol pic.twitter.com/w14mzejdSn

The announcement of a new Occupy Monday event earned 4 short paragraphs from the Associated Press via Blueridge Now:

RALEIGH, N.C. — A caravan of people urging the restoration of the Voting Rights Act will join North Carolina activists in Raleigh in a protest. Continue reading

CCSSO President Atkinson Starts Campaigning Early

NC State Superintendent and President of the CCSSO Dr. June Atkinson recently spent time speaking to the Carteret County Democrat party. Atkinson assaulted the current legislature for teacher pay while conveniently leaving out the role both she and former Governor Perdue played in freezing teacher pay in the first place.

Despite having the highest graduation rate in the history of the state, North Carolina’s public education system needs support to survive the recent wave of changes enacted by the General Assembly, State Superintendent of Public Instruction June Atkinson said on Saturday to county Democrats. 7 More Get A Free Ride

Seven more Moral Monday protesters has been acquitted. The costly and stupid parade continues along with more theatrics. Look at this stunt below, attempting to call Tillis and Berger as witnesses.

RALEIGH — An attorney representing protesters arrested at the N.C. Legislative Building in June, attempted to call the leaders of both General Assembly chambers on Wednesday as witnesses in the trial of seven people.

John McWilliam, a Raleigh attorney representing some of the demonstrators arrested June 12, said he issued subpoenas for N.C. House Speaker Thom Tillis and Senate President Phil Berger to find out more about the enforcement of the building rules his clients had been accused of violating.

It’s a McClatchy article, so of course there is no mention whatsoever that the people arrested went to the legislature building fully intending to be arrested and that they volunteered to do so. Now taxpayers are on the hook for the police, overtime and court time. That’s Money Monday for you — bilking the taxpayer to fund their BlueprintNC gripe parade. Continue reading

Barber Beclowns Himself On Vouchers

Reverend Barber has equated the ability of parents to have school choice with segregation. No, not kidding.

“On Tuesday, the Rev. William Barber, the NAACP president, said vouchers are an attempt at re-segregation and a return to the 1950s.” -WNCN Continue reading

Quahog’s Loss Is NC’s Gain.

So we’ve got an American Idol runner-up attempting to run against Rep. Ellmers, “The hair” running against Rep. Pittman and now another unfortunately coifed Democrat is apparently challenging Sen. Berger. Dear Mr. Osborne – The Beatles called, they want their haircut back. Add to the mix the recent Voller/Chavis debacle. Wow. NC Democrats sure are on the win wagon these days. Continue reading

#DM7 Article: NC Dems Continue Marching Further Left

My latest Magnificent 7 article is now available. The original is located here at Da Tech Guy Blog.

NC Dems Continue Marching Further Left

The North Carolina Democratic Party has had yet another shake up. No, Randy Voller isn’t apologizing for another rape remark, but it does involve him. Chairman Voller has fired manager Robert Dempsey after only nine months on the job, citing ‘personnel issues’. The last personnel issue we saw surrounding Voller was the resignation of Nina Slzosberg-Landis, who took issue with the direction Voller would take the party as well as the methods he used. Members of his own party then called for his resignation. Continue reading
