CMS Teachers Upset Commissioners Want New Term Length – #cms #nced
According to the Charlotte Observer, teachers in Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools (CMS) are mad the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Commissioners want to increase their term limit. The board wants to change their term limit from 2 years to 4 years.
While this Commissioner board term limit change is arguably worth protesting, it’s not the real reason. To borrow from Mr. Alinsky, “The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.”

Cumberland County Upset Their Supplement Isn’t As Big As Wake County’s
Cumberland County Schools is upset that their teacher salary supplement isn’t as big as Wake County’s.
So, the narrative we’ve heard from various sources is that North Carolina doesn’t pay it’s teacher enough. The untold part of that narrative is that the teacher supplemental pay is set by the individual districts.
Ok, so the teachers in Cumberland have a smaller supplement. The county sets that, so why not raise it? They have no problem paying their Superintendent generously, after all.

Aim Higher Now, the Progress NC astroturf protest outfit, held a protest where about all of 6 people showed up.
FayObserver seems to lump Aim Higher and teachers together.
