So What Does Moral Monday Do Now?

This week, the Reverend Barber and his merry band of big government, big spending extreme leftists got their asses handed to them when North Carolinians headed to the polls.

Rev. William BarberThe big cries about ‘voter suppression’ utterly fell flat. Almost nothing changed at the General Assembly. Hagan was shown the door. Moral Monday racked up arrests for what exactly? Oh, right – so Barber could get a book and film out of it and more air-time on MSNBC.

Hey MoMo’s? Are you seeing any money out of those deals?

Barber is continuing his ineffective haranguing, but one can’t help laugh at this point.

Enterovirus Likely Brought In By Illegals

In October, I asked NC Dept. of Health and Human Services exactly where in North Carolina Enterovirus patients were located and where reports of cases were happening. I received little back in useful information at that time.

Many, including myself, have speculated that the influx of illegal immigrants had a role to play in the outbreaks of Enterovirus that cropped up in multiple states. Major media have yet to ask that question. Local media aren’t touching it.

10,000 Comments: More NC Public Overall ELA Feedback, Grade 6 and Up

In the last few weeks, I’ve been publishing the public feedback for North Carolina from 2010 that CCSSO and NGA refused to release. These “10,000 comments” have been used by proponents in an arguably dishonest manner to point to a vetting process for the standards.

Here is another point of reference on these “10,000 comments”:

Take a look at the summary of “public feedback” posted on the Core Standards website. It is grossly misleading. First of all, calling the feedback “public” is wrong: the organizers of the standards would not make public the nearly 10,000 comments they say they received from citizens. The summary quotes 24 respondents–less than 1/4 of 1 percent of the total–selectively chosen to back up their interpretation of the results.

Today I have put together grade 6+ writing and language comments, as well as a section where people could leave more overall feedback on the ELA portion that might not have been covered in previous questions.

The first two, writing and language, only had 3 or 4 comments each. The third section that allowed for more overall commentary on the ELA had a flurry of comments.

I’ve been fielding a lot of emails and Facebook messages on Enterovirus. This virus appears to be causing paralysis in some of the kids who have succumb to it and a 4-year-old New Jersey boy recently died from it. Parents are rightfully concerned. Continue reading →

Opting Out Of Tests In North Carolina
