The two testing consortia associated with Common Core are still alive in part thanks to new management and a huge grant from Common Core’s largest funder, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
According to their website, the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) was taken over in 2016 by the New Meridian Corporation.
A William Lenoir Middle School teacher who was arrested and charged with taking indecent liberties with a child has now also been charged with felonious restraint.

According to WBTV, a warrant accuses Biggs of “restraining a girl under the age of 16” and then “moving her from the place of initial restraint without her parents’ consent.”
The Lenoir police department charged 29-year-old Justin Biggs with five felony counts of indecent liberties with a child earlier in December.

The second and third gubernatorial debates took place on October 11th and 18th respectively. While there were no ‘October surprises’ during these debates, what was surprising were some of the claims made by Attorney General Roy Cooper.
