#MoralMarch Recap

So, the NC NAACP held their ‘grassroots’ Moral March – which was really just the annual HK on J (Historic Thousands on Jones St) with a bunch of groups bused in to make more noise. The main protest point, among the laundry list presented, was voter ID.

Hilarious since the Do’s and Don’t list disseminated to potential marchers by the NC NAACP included telling them to bring Photo ID with them:

#MoralMarch will protest NC’s new “racist” #VoterID, but you’re req’d to bring photo ID to the march. #ncpol pic.twitter.com/w14mzejdSn — Stacey-SisterToldjah (@sistertoldjah) February 8, 2014

#DM7 Article: A Primer On The Left In NC (IV)

My Latest Magnificent Seven article is up at DaTechGuy: A Primer on the Left In NC (IV)

Last week we looked at Moral Monday in North Carolina and how it’s now spreading to neighboring states. I mentioned that was not a bug but a feature. In this installment, we’ll look at the union ties to Moral Monday, a quick look at a movement I’ve dubbed Occupy 2.0 and how the AFL-CIO’s “Organize the South or Die” campaign all figure into the mix. Occupy 2.0: Fast Food Worker Protest In Charlotte, Durham

This past Tuesday, there was another fast food worker protest. This time it was in Charlotte and Durham, this time with the added theme of workers who are also on public assistance. It would seem Occupy 2.0 is still alive in North Carolina – but barely.

Find out how these union front groups tie into North Carolina and the NC NAACP’s Moral Monday circus. Continue reading

Occupy 2.0: #829Strike

Fast Food workers across the nation, organized by Big Labor and their allies, went on strike to demand higher wages today. I captured the onset of the protests via the #829Strike hashtag on Twitter. Continue reading

Leftist Groups Coordinate To Picket NC GOP Event

Hey, NC GOP… Heads up! Occupy Raleigh, the AFL-CIO and probably more are planning to picket your event on Tuesday. If you’re lucky, Code Pink’s Madea Benjamin might show up!

The AFL-CIO wants you to picket the NC GOP “Cashing-In on the “Decline of North Carolina”. Cute, using the NY Times piece as their title. The major problem with that NY Times piece is it assumes NC was ever Progressive or Blue. It wasn’t… EVER. Continue reading
