@AimHigherNC Still A Mystery

To date, no media outlet has asked the pointed question and received an answer from Aim Higher NC on who their backers are. We do know that Organize2020, the NCAE member-led protest arm, says they are not involved. We also know that Rob Black of Red Wolf Communications is being called a ‘spokesperson’ for Aim Higher in the media. Black was a former communications directors for the Teamsters.

The only clue is the Aim Higher website. At the bottom, it says”Built by Powerthru Consulting”. A click on that text takes you to a PowerThru Consulting page although the address remains AimHigherNC. Now, click on ‘Clients’. There is a long list of Unions on it, of which the AFL-CIO and Progress NC stand out as having a presence in North Carolina: Continue reading

Occupy Monday Still Harping On Voter ID

The movement that required you show ID to attend their rally opposing voter ID is planning yet another event. Will ID be required at this one too?

#MoralMarch will protest NC’s new “racist” #VoterID, but you’re req’d to bring photo ID to the march. #ncpol pic.twitter.com/w14mzejdSn

The announcement of a new Occupy Monday event earned 4 short paragraphs from the Associated Press via Blueridge Now:

RALEIGH, N.C. — A caravan of people urging the restoration of the Voting Rights Act will join North Carolina activists in Raleigh in a protest. Continue reading

About That UNCW Poll…

There’s a survey floating around out there from UNCW on education. Some folks can barely contain their glee at a survey that so conveniently fits the BlueprintNC/Moral Monday style narrative they and their cohorts have been touting for a while now. Local media of course endorsed it.

While NC Policy Watch’s Wagner is celebrating more BlueprintNC crippling and eviscerating, I say not so fast. This survey was already on my radar and a few other’s, who have noted some big problems with it:

FYI… 60+% of them had public school employment history MT @kennycmckee: UNCW asked parents about #NCGA & #NCED => http://t.co/XAiuaYz1wN

Here Comes Occupy Monday

Reverend Barber is flying all over the place, like to Florida and apparently to the bastion of Big Labor in Madison, Wisconsin. That figured. Hey Hey, Ho Ho… Moral Monday’s on the road! Continue reading

7 More Get A Free Ride

Seven more Moral Monday protesters has been acquitted. The costly and stupid parade continues along with more theatrics. Look at this stunt below, attempting to call Tillis and Berger as witnesses.

RALEIGH — An attorney representing protesters arrested at the N.C. Legislative Building in June, attempted to call the leaders of both General Assembly chambers on Wednesday as witnesses in the trial of seven people.

John McWilliam, a Raleigh attorney representing some of the demonstrators arrested June 12, said he issued subpoenas for N.C. House Speaker Thom Tillis and Senate President Phil Berger to find out more about the enforcement of the building rules his clients had been accused of violating.

It’s a McClatchy article, so of course there is no mention whatsoever that the people arrested went to the legislature building fully intending to be arrested and that they volunteered to do so. Now taxpayers are on the hook for the police, overtime and court time. That’s Money Monday for you — bilking the taxpayer to fund their BlueprintNC gripe parade. Continue reading

Moral Monday FL Recycled Rhetoric

Well, I told you last Spring that Rev. Barber and his BlueprintNC pals would try to spread Moral Monday. So far, little outcroppings of it have sprung up in Georgia, New York and Alabama. Now we have one in Florida, which displays the rhetoric and theatrics of the NC version we’ve come to tune out.

Some quick examples: Continue reading
