In my inbox was a message from NC Attorney General, Roy Cooper. He’s ‘siding’ with Wake County School Board Member, Susan Evans. And she’s fundraising on that endorsement too. (See the email at the bottom of the article.)
Evans is challenging Senator Tamara Barringer for her NC General Assembly seat. So yet again, we Roy Cooper is siding with the bullies just like he has colluded with businesses to bully and blackmail our state over HB 2.

And yes, Susan Evans is a bully.
I have first hand experience with her brand of intimidation public relations.
Let me be clear: I’d sooner stick a white-hot poker in my ear than vote for Evans. Even if she was running for dog catcher.
Evans had the nerve to snipe at me in person; she said I was being rude after I went over the generous 3 minutes to speak out about Common Core at a public education forum. A forum which was attended by maybe a dozen people. I am sure they were so put out having to listen to an additional 60 seconds of commentary.
Those of you who know me personally know that I don’t suffer leftist bullies. I told her where to stick her time limit since WCPSS’s board hadn’t even allowed for public comment on Common Core in the past.
Revisit Ms. Evan’s bully past. Including her association with Moral Monday’s aptly nicknamed Bully Barber.
What does this Roy Cooper endorsement say about a sitting Wake County School Board member?
It arguably says she’s absolutely finewith putting Wake county students in harms way.
As the short session starts to ramp up, here are some of the education related bills at the North Carolina General Assembly.
Senate: S848 – Cary Charter Amendments S855 – Modify School Performance Grades S862 – Opp. Scholarships Forward Funding

Establishment of a reserve fund:
§ 115C‑562.8. The Opportunity Scholarship Grant Fund Reserve.
“The Opportunity Scholarship Grant Fund Reserve is established as a reserve to be administered by the Board of Governors of The University of North Carolina for the purpose of allocating funds to the Authority for the award of scholarship grants in accordance with this Part. The Reserve shall consist of monies appropriated from the General Fund to the Reserve by the General Assembly. These funds shall be used to award scholarship grants to eligible students for the school year that begins in the fiscal year following the fiscal year in which the appropriation is made to the Reserve. The Board of Governors shall only use monies in the Reserve in accordance with the purposes set forth in this section. The unobligated balance of funds in the Reserve at the end of each fiscal year shall not revert to the General Fund but shall be used for those purposes set forth in this section for the next fiscal year.”
Increase in funding by $10 million each year. There is an increase schedule included in the text through 2027.
There is a glaring hole in the long string of state leaders and elected officials standing together against the illegal and dangerous Charlotte Ordinance and in support of HB 2.

Do they think they are invisible? We can see your shoes under the stall door, gentlemen.
The pair of NC Senators had been acting like nothing big was going on in their state and that all was quiet. No media outlets had gotten them on record until recently and then Senator Burr opened his mouth.
— A.P. Dillon – LL1885 (@LadyLiberty1885) May 11, 2016
The Hill captured Senator Burr basically throwing the governor, legislature and people of North Carolina under the bus:
“When things get into the courts system, that’s how it has to play out,’ Burr told The Hill when asked about the dueling lawsuits over the law, which requires transgender people to use the bathroom corresponding to their biological sex.”
“I would have loved to see them work out an agreement that both sides were happy with. They either chose not to do it or couldn’t,” Burr said.
Burr also said Governor McCrory was “off base” asking for Congress’s help.
The set of comments reported by The Hill was not missed by Daniel Horowitz over at Conservative Review, who then backed the bus up and ran over Senator Burr.
Horowitz penned an article yesterday which was aptly titled, Sen. Burr hides in the men’s room as North Carolina fights alone.
Horowitz doesn’t hold back. Here’s an excerpt, but go read the whole thing:
“Every word in Sen. Burr’s statement reeks of constitutional illiteracy, personal diffidence on the most foundational truths, and cowardice to represent his own people.
As I noted earlier today in my post detailing what Congress must do to protect North Carolina, the entire purpose of the federal union was to protect individual liberty and the integrity of state sovereignty. Our Founders made Congress the “predominate” branch of government so that the people and the states would have representatives defending their rights. At the same time, the judiciary was to have “neither force nor will” concerning major political issues. Yet, we now have a state under assault by the unelected bureaucrats and the legal profession, which seeks to redefine human sex itself, and Sen. Burr is not only unwilling to defend his state, he is suggesting that such social transformation is inherently the domain of the judiciary.
In the world of Sen. Burr, the Left could bastardize any statue and even compare civil rights for African-Americans to the eradication of all sex differences, and Congress must submit to the courts to decide whether a man is indeed a man. “Prove us wrong that the 1964 Civil Rights Act wasn’t intended to allow men access to private space for women,” say the radical sexual identity jihadists. “Let’s have the courts decide this very deep and complex question,” retorts Richard Burr.
Burr’s comments demonstrate mind-boggling ignorance and cowardice rolled into one incoherent statement.”
Over the last few years, North Carolina has come to expect this kind of RINO dumbassery from Burr. Both Burr and Tillis sold out NC kids with their ESSA vote then Burr turned around and bad mouthed Senator Cruz in a Lindsey Grahamesque fashion.
I can only cover my eyes and shake my head as I imagine what might have come out of Tillis’ mouth.
Both Horowitz and Governor McCrory are right — The Obama administration is trying to fundamentally transform the definition of biological sex and it will impact every single state.
Do you hear that, Senator Burr? Senator Tillis? Your JOBS are calling you. Get off your fence post and defend your state and it’s citizens.
*Since writing this article 4 year ago, the documentary “Not A War Story” came out. Updates on this can be found below this post
So you think Hollywood does a bang-up job at portraying our Veterans? Movie after movie has been produced that portray the great men and women of our Military as either stoic, unyielding, bland, tunnel-visioned, broken, haunted or just down right scary. We see this play out in theaters across the country because Hollywood does love a stereotype.
Well, our Veterans are not stereotypical, and a group of them set out on their own mission to prove just that, and in epic fashion I might add.
Two Veteran owned companies Ranger Up and Article 15 Clothing have teamed up to bring us the (soon to be cult classic), zombie apocalypse, stereotypes be damned, up coming horror/action comedy film Range 15 that according to creators Nick Palmisciano, CEO of Ranger Up and Mat Best, CEO of Article 15 and the rest of the Range 15 Team:
“This movie is so hardcore military it makes Hollywood wet itself and run home crying to mommy.”
Don’t believe me?
The Official RedBand trailer for Range 15 I’d say speaks for itself. A little warning: This video may contain scenes and language not suitable for children or for the “fragile, PC minded, only Hollywood can do these movies, I don’t like any gore, fun or comedy” adults.
Notice any familiar faces besides the actors whom we all have come to know? HINT: There are actual Veterans in this flick!
Range 15 funding has been for the most part all crowd sourced and it’s popularity has hit a fever pitch of epic proportions on Social Media. The trailer alone has garnered almost 5 million views on Facebook. In an interview with Fox News, Nick Palmisciano, one of the Producers of the movie and founder of Ranger up had this to say:
“We started an Indiegogo campaign with the goal of raising $350,000 to supplement funds that we had raised ourselves, as well as some sponsors,” …“Over the course of a couple months, we ended up raising $1.2 million.”
Palmisciano went on to say in the Fox interview regarding the stereotypes Hollywood seems to always throw out regarding the Military Veterans:
“It’s either, ‘Those poor veterans. They’re broken and they went to war,’” Palmisciano said. “And then the other side, where veterans are these godlike creatures that are supposed to be just loved and doted upon. And neither of those things is true. We’re a cross section of society. We’re regular people that chose to serve their nation. And that’s really what we want to be treated like — regular people.”
In my opinion, this film is sure to be not only a cult classic, but a fantastic way to finally teach Hollywood a lesson that our Veterans are normal, everyday, funny, regular people! Stereotypes be damned!
Range 15 is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 16. For a list of locations and to purchase tickets you can go to Range15.com.

UPDATE:
A couple years after the making of Range 15 the guys came out with the documentary “Not a War Story” and the description by it’s creators really says it all. From the Range 15 website
Not a War Story is the behind the scenes look at the 80 veterans and superhuman effort it took to execute the first veteran movie ever, Range 15. Relive the tense and poignant moments as this crew tries to do the impossible.
80 Veterans.
One movie.
No Quit.
The documentary is a fantastic compendium to the Range 15 movie and I highly recommend watching it. Both features are on iTunes, Amazon Prime as well as the Range 15 website
