#MeltdownMonday – June 3rd Edition

It’s Moral Meltdown Monday again in Raleigh! It’s not just Any Moral Meltdown Monday, it’s…
“MEGA” MELTDOWN MONDAY!

For more about Barber and his arrest antics read: Playing the Bus Card

Everyone get excited for more arrests, chanting and festivities in front of the state legislature! By the way, no one gets arrested at these things that doesn’t want to be. It’s a stunt for media attention. The gang will all be there, with the NAACP and AFL CIO leading the charge. Oh and Occupy Raleigh is going to show up too, what fun! We know how mostly peaceful things stay when Occupy joins in. Sorry if I seem a little flip about these protests, but living in the Triangle region makes one a little fed up with Barber and his endless three ring circuses.

This MEGA Meltdown Monday is special though, it even have a snazzy video complete with slogan:

Join the Forward Together Movement for a Moral Monday Mass Rally and Action on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 5:00 pm. The 5th Wave of Moral Mondays will lift up three pillars of democracy: Education, Economic Justice and Voting Rights.

“Don’t try to make this about Black and White, this is about right and wrong!” – Rev. Barber

Yeah, whatever. Nothing is about right and wrong with Barber. He’s not interested in what’s right, he’s just interested in slamming Republicans no matter what and has been ever since they took control of the NCGA. Everything is about Black and White to Barber, because RACISM! So shut up you Teabaggers! Now go read this misleading lede from WRAL’s ‘professional journalist’ Laura Leslie and hush.

Forward together. Hmm Heard that before! RT @durhampeoples: Preparing for Moral Monday! #ncpol #ncga pic.twitter.com/xryQKnfCaD

The NAACP sure is fired up. They’re even doing a statewide tour, so no one will miss out on the arrests:

The Forward Together Movement Mobilizes Local Communities to Fight Back Against Extremism in NC General Assembly

RALEIGH – The 25-stop Forward Together Movement Local Organizing Tour will launch tomorrow in Raleigh and crisscross North Carolina over the next two weeks, spreading the word about the Tea Party-backed extremist forces who have high-jacked the NC General Assembly.

More video and outrage at the NAACP site. You know, the NAACP in NC is a 501(c)4. Wonder if they were harassed by the IRS? Hmm. Well, it doesn’t matter because the Executive Council of the North Carolina Democratic Party passed a resolution today:

Resolution in Support of Moral Mondays

“WHEREAS, our great state of North Carolina is being dragged back into the 19th Century by Republican legislators passing regressive legislation signed into law by Republican Governor Pat McCrory.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the the North Carolina Democratic Party supports the Moral Monday effort at the NC General Assembly to show our objection to these regressive actions; and

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the North Carolina Democratic Party encourages Democrats to go to the NC General Assembly in Raleigh to support Moral Mondays.”

“Regressive actions” translated = THAT’S RAAAACIST!

Updates will be posted after the mayhem ensues, that is of course unless they get rained out which is highly likely given the forecast. Continue reading

Democrats Are Melting Down In NC

The NCGA has a Republican super majority for the first time in decades and they are using their advantage to get quite a bit accomplished. This has naturally thrown the Democrats in North Carolina into full meltdown mode.

I posted a brief comment on ConMom about the meltdown in progress:

LL885 comments:

The rising hysterical tone and tactics coming out of the Left in NC is something to pay attention to. For the first time in decades, Conservatives have a super-majority in the NC General Assembly with a Republican in the Governor’s mansion to boot. Dems are scared and getting particularly ugly. A main reason for that is the legislation that the NCGA is managing to get processed so quickly – guns, obamacare, schools. The unholy trinity of progressives.

People need to tune into the shenanigans by the NAACP in NC that have been going on for a while now – most notably the protests and circus like atmosphere created by Reverend Barber. His multiple arrests and cries of racism in relation to the Wake County School board changes to school assignment and busing have worn thin. The NAACP has teamed up with radical groups like Occupy NCSU, Occupy Raleigh, Debt Strike Raleigh, NC Student Power Union and the AFL-CIO in recent rallies (Check out Youtube for ‘HK on J 2013′). The rhetoric was positively socialist and the tone can be seen as very inflammatory.

Elected Democrats and Progressives in NC have also teamed up with groups like BluePrint NC to get their talking points and “eviscerate the opposition”. BluePrint NC itself is tied to all of the groups listed prior. The organized Left is mobilizing and linking arms in North Carolina. Ignore it at your peril.

UPDATE: Cue Dems freaking out in 3…2…1

NC House Votes to Bar Sex-Selective Abortions

More on that last link about HB 716 here. There hasn’t been a big reaction to it yet, mainly because Planned Parenthood is too busy trying to force those with moral objections to provide abortions: Continue reading

NC General Assembly Files Common Core Standards Study Bill

Signs that pressure is being brought to bear on legislators in North Carolina over the Common Core Standards surfaced this week. On April 10th, the NC General Assembly filed HB 733 titled The Common Core Standards Study Bill.

This act is to establish a Common Core Standards study board and the overall duties being, “The Committee shall study the implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and the short‑ and long‑term educational, economic, and regulatory impact of those changes on our teachers, administrators, schools, parents, communities, and State.”

Truth In American Education also reported the news along with naming the sponsors HB733:

State Representatives Larry Pittman (R-Concord), Hugh Blackwell (R-Valdese), Rob Bryan (R-Charlotte) and Michael Speciale (R-New Bern) are the primary sponsors.

Truth In American Education in this report lists a very useful Common Core Standards primer for North Carolinian that was put out by the John Locke Foundation. The primer is also available for download at the Truth In American Education site. If you are in North Carolina, I would urge you to do so and also share it with friends.

Raleigh: Dix Land Sale Hearing Gets Heated

One of the last acts former Democrat Governor, Bev Perdue, performed was a widely unpopular land give-away deal involving the Dorthea Dix Campus. Recently, North Carolina legislators have begun the process of undoing the deal. Continue reading

Stay Classy, Mary-Ann Baldwin (Updated)

Democrats and their ‘New Tone’ — Elevating the discourse to new highs and sad lows, like pets peeing on public buildings like an occupier.

Case in point, Mary-Ann Baldwin, Raleigh Councilwoman. She decided it would ‘send a message’ to the GOP in NC if she took a picture of her dog peeing on one of the pillars at the North Carolina General Assembly and then post it on Facebook. Upon checking her Facebook page, the photo is not there anymore or at least an unfriended user can’t see it. If it was Tweeted, that’s been deleted as well. From the looks of it, the message Baldwin sent went from ‘Dog Pee’ to ‘Retreat’.

It’s alright, WBTW has it memorialized: Continue reading
