#MoralMonday: @WRAL In Full CYA Mode For NAACP, Lefties
If you thought WRAL couldn’t bend over backwards any further to legitimize the NAACP’s “Moral Monday”, you were wrong. A crack team of ‘researchers’, mainly from UNC Chapel Hill, have now decided to show up and poll the crowd. All 317 of them. It’s worth noting that quite a number of UNC Chapel Hill employees have been among those arrested in prior weeks.
Funny side note: I zinged WRAL about not having reporters actually out checking out the crowd and voila, now we have a whole team of researchers out there! Fun coincidence.
“Researchers find ‘Moral Monday’ crowd mostly from North Carolina”
Raleigh, N.C. — A team of researchers say a survey of the crowd at tonight’s “Moral Monday” protest shows that at least 311 of 317 of those surveyed are from North Carolina.
The protests, which have been led by the NAACP, have been organized to express opposition to a number of policies put forward by the Republican-controlled legislature. Spending on health care and changes to voting procedures have been staple targets of the protests, although tonight’s speeches focused on the environment and women’s health.
During the past two weeks, lawmakers and other high-profile Republicans, including state party chairman Claude Pope, have dismissed the protesters as “outsiders.” That line has been refined in recent days to say that there are “outside influences” on the protests. In fact, groups such as the Washington, D.C.-based Advancement Project have helped provide organization and media outreach for protesters.
That’s special, WRAL. Nice try. Your story and these researchers address THIS week’s protest, but not the June 3rd one. WRAL and the NAACP desperately want everyone to forget how after two weeks between protests that drew at most 250 people, suddenly there were over 1,000. It was magic.
On June 3rd, the number of people allegedly swelled over 1,000. That increase was due to influx of SEIU astroturf. WRAL came out hard denying that any out of towners were there pumping up the numbers by basing their crowd estimate on out-of-state attendees arrested over the course of all the protests to date. How stupid does WRAL think readers are?
What is funny is that their crack team of ‘researchers’ did confirm what I’ve been saying from the start. The crowd is mainly ticked off, old, White Liberals. In fact, overwhelmingly so:
Ethnicity Count Percentage
White 250 79.9%
African American 53 16.9%
Hispanic 6 1.9%
Asian/Pacific Islander/ Indian 4 1.3%
Gee, imagine that.
WRAL has also reported that 84 arrests were made yesterday. WRAL must have a special relationship with the Wake County Sheriff or General Assembly Police –because the ability to look up these arrests on the P2co website has been axed for the average tax paying citizen. Continue reading
#MoralMonday: Transparency Fail by Wake Sheriff, Courts
I’ve been tracking the arrests at Moral Monday for the last month and had no problem accessing the once public records of the arrests, that is up until last week. The Wake County Sheriff site has stopped making the records of these arrests public information.
Transparency!
Huge hat tip to Civitas:
Let’s say you’re an ordinary citizen and you trespass on someone’s property. You come back the next day anyway. You get arrested again, and this time you’re charged with contempt. Wait – what’s that? You’re the Rev. William Barber? Never mind. Please, come inside. Continue reading

#MoralMonday : June 10 Arrests Edition
The records are taking their sweet time being loaded at the Wake County Sheriff’s site. I’m not linking to every record this time as the WCS site won’t let you permanently link to records. Those curious about the number of clergy, Liberal university professors, the unemployed/retired, in other other words mainly older White Liberals, being arrested can do their own search at WCS. It’s worth noting that, so far, no one has been arrested twice. Given the local population attendance, they’re going to have to double up soon.
Here are the 5 names listed thus far for June 10th by WCS below. When more are posted I will update.
Records at WakeMugs.com had the mug shots for 4 of the 5 up:
Woolford
Turner
Woogon
Amos
As if Moral Monday’s weren’t enough, we now also had a ‘Witness Wednesday’ this week. I was actually nearby when they started to form their group, having just attended the Stop Common Core event — where we talked to dozens of legislators like adults and resulted in zero arrests. Go figure.
Well Witless Witness Wednesday had a ‘handful’ of arrests too. WCS only has one name up right now:
This was supposed to be a protest commemorating the assassination of Medgar Evers yet it was turned into some kind of social justice circus by the NAACP and the AFL-CIO. WRAL falls all over itself to report:
Raleigh, N.C. — After weeks of Monday protests in which dozens of people were arrested at the General Assembly, a Wednesday afternoon protest ended with only eight people taken away by police.
The “Witness Wednesday” event coincided with the 50th anniversary of the assassination of NAACP activist Medgar Evers outside his Jackson, Miss., home.
The North Carolina chapter of the NAACP led the protest, which included the same criticism of Republican-backed legislation, from slashing unemployment benefits to using state money to provide vouchers for some students to attend private schools, that has marked the weekly “Moral Monday” protests.
“The Holy Scriptures declare that, when we stand for righteousness, when we heed the call to do what is right, we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses of those who died – or suffered and died – who have gone on but now sit in glory, and they cheer us on,” said Rev. William Barber, state NAACP president.
“It is the great witness of those who died before us and who fought before us that is the ultimate critique on the immoral and extreme legislation coming out of this General Assembly and out of the Governor’s Office,” Barber said. “When you attack poor people, when you attack voting rights, when you attack the most vulnerable, that’s wrong. Their blood speaks.”
Dear Rev. Barber: Give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and what is God’s to God. Do not confuse the two. Continue reading

@WRAL Beclowns Itself In Debunk Attempt of #MoralMonday Attendance
WRAL is nearly falling over itself to rush to the aid of the NAACP and Moral Mondays:
Of the 388 people who have been arrested over those six weeks, arrest records indicate only eight – or 2 percent – are from out of state. While not all who come to the rallies get arrested, the records provide the best verifiable snapshot into the makeup of the protesters. (link)
Wow WRAL. Hacktastic! By their logic, because only two people from out of state were arrested at the June 3rd event, it then follows no significant number of out of state people were possibly there. That giant jump in attendance from a few hundred to over 1,000 was just momentum…after being off for two weeks. Right, sure.
Except it wasn’t. Continue reading
#MoralMondays: June 10 Edition
Well, this week was no “MEGA” Moral Monday, but it did indeed go on. Hundreds even showed up. That kind of deflation back to real numbers is what happens when the SEIU buses leave town and take their astroturf with them. Now protesters had to bus themselves in and that ended up not working out so great as Sister Toldjah notes:
Anyhooo…
Occupy Raleigh was there taking live video. They really want you to go look at it or something.
The desperation is really starting to take its toll. The most prominent sign on Twitter was attacking the ‘Eeeeeevil Koch Brothers’. Muahahahahaa!!!! Really people? Get some new material or stick to your original gripes. This is embarrassing:
Yawn. Oh and not to be outdone, there was foot stomping and finger wagging over the also eeeeevil Art Pope, Super-Villain at large:
Ah yes, the “villain”. #Yawn MT @Xavier_onassis: @NCCivitas Bet they represent more of us than Art Pope and Civitas do.#MoralMonday

The typical chants were employed. God they get old fast:
What do we want? Justice! When do we want it? NOW!!! #moralmondays#NCpic.twitter.com/KGr4LWDCEL
— Occupy Astoria LIC (@OccupyAstoriaLI) June 10, 2013
Here’s your obligatory stress relief moment after viewing that hot mess:
[youtube=http://youtu.be/xgS4WIA-vM0]Oh alright, Fine. I’ll cut to the arrests. That’s what you’re likely here for anyway. The claim is it was 60 this time. Oh wait, sorry “More than 60” this time. Boy were the crowds happy to see them go! They even chanted “Thank you!”
First busload of arrestees pulls away. Crowd is chanting “thank you” #moralmondays @NAACP pic.twitter.com/bsmvXLftwc
— Jennifer W Roberts (@JenRobertsNC) June 10, 2013
Oh wait.. they were thanking the pawns for getting arrested.
The mugshots and records are not up yet on the Wake county site, but I’ll be sure to post them all tomorrow. Stay tuned!

#MoralMondays: The SEIU Factor
This morning I was reviewing the arrest reports from the June 3rd meltdown and came across two out of towners in the arrest list. These two hail from NYC. Quite a long way away from home.
Interesting to note the out of town union factor:
Estela Vasquez — She’s from NYC, NY and employer is LABOR UNION. (Update: The Link to Wake Cty Sheriff report no longer works. Screenshot here.) Specifically the SEIU 1199. She’s tied to healthcare as the Executive Director of United Healthcare Workers East. Estela is a fan of Occupy:
