Hagan “certainly supportive” of Far Left Moral Monday

Local media outlets can’t be bothered to ask Kay Hagan if she skipped out on ISIS briefings, but Left leaning outlet IndyWeek did get to ask her five questions. The opening of the Indyweek article is priceless; calling her recent campaign event with the AFL-CIO ‘awkward’:

Senator Kay Hagan was the keynote speaker at the North Carolina AFL-CIO’s annual convention last week at the Hilton in North Raleigh. At the event, the union leadership urged the rank-and-file to throw their fundraising weight behind Hagan, who has rebranded herself as “The Most Moderate Senator” in preparation for her race against Thom Tillis. While AFL members and chapters seemed excited about Hagan, the pairing was a bit of an awkward date. Just before Sen. Hagan arrived, Ben Wilkins, an organizer for NC Raise Up!, called for a $15 minimum wage for fast food workers. When Hagan spoke, she pledged to get North Carolinians $10.10, and then spoke about equal pay and elder care, barely mentioning labor rights. Regardless, her speech met with thunderous applause. After her speech, Sen. Hagan stepped aside with the INDY a brief interview.

In one of the questions asked by IndyWeek, she expresses her support for the far Left Moral Monday after being asked why she is distancing herself from them.

Why have you distanced yourself from Moral Monday when those were the same folks who got you elected in 2008?

Wow, Shill much? MT @newsobserver Editorial: Tillis is wrong and vague about NC’s minimum wage- http://t.co/dBLfy28IJC #NCpol #RaiseTheWage

Love that hashtag – #RaiseTheWage. All the cool union front groups fomenting ire and leading strikes in order to pad their waning member ranks are using it.

Did someone say Union?

Hagan’s Contraception Talking Point Is A Dud

In the first debate against Speaker Thom Tillis, Senator Kay Hagan took the “War On Women” route. Hagan continued to repeat Tillis was for banning birth control as well as her willful misrepresentation the Hobby Lobby decision being about birth control, which it wasn’t. Flashback from Sister Toldjah: Senate Dems, including @KayHagan, set to try & “reverse” #HobbyLobby ruling

That decision wasn’t about BC. Why do you hate religious freedom? #ncsen MT @kayhagan: Speaker Tillis supports #HobbyLobby decision …

The war on women/contraception attack flopped, as Tillis stuck a stick in the wheels of her talking point bike by stating he feels oral contraception should be made available over the counter. Hagan had no come back for this. In fact, Democrats are so freaked out by this move they’ve become more shrill and launched five-figure ad buys.

Hagan To Charlotte Observer, TWC News On Debate: No Thanks.

Kay Hagan has declined to participate in a debate being put on by the Charlotte Observer, the News and Observer and Time Warner Cable News. Time Warner Cable News in Charlotte had this tidbit from Hagan’s Campaign manager:

Her campaign communications director, Sadie Weiner, said in a statement: “…The series of three debates is already more than Speaker Tillis originally agreed to during his primary and more than Senator Dole did in 2008. The first debate has already taken place, and we look forward to the next debate opportunity for the two candidates to compare their records for voters. ”

First #NCsenDebate Roundup

The first of two debates between Thom Tillis and Kay Hagan took place last night. The debate was broadcast on WRAL. The next one is October 7th.

Incredulous is a great word for Kay Hagan, because I am incredulous watching her repeat debunked lies in a debate. #ncsen #ncsendebate

— LL1885 – A.P. Dillon (@LadyLiberty1885) September 3, 2014

Hagan’s rhetoric came across like a Moral Monday occupier who kept channeling Sandra Fluke while wearing Wendy Davis red sneakers. Tillis stood firm on states rights and corrected Hagan’s use of debunked Senate Majority PAC talking points about his record. Here’s the net-net of the debate via Twitter:

Hagan’s tweet timeline is littered with people calling out Hagan. The above is just one example. How about those 500,000 North Carolinians who lost their health insurance under Hagan? Was that fighting for the middle class? No. That was fighting for Obaam’s agenda.

Let’s expand on her “middle class” statement with some facts about what Democrats have done for the middle class, courtesy of the NRSC:
