Is Fayetteville Mayoral Candidate Offering Rides, Food For Votes?

Councilwoman Val Applewhite is running for Mayor of Fayetteville. Applewhite charged ahead and won the primary to on October 9th. That boils it down to her and Nat Robertson to battle it out for the Mayor’s seat on November 5th. Applewhite kicked off her campaign with a theme of transparency and accountability:

“For far too long the voices of our citizens have gone unheard,” she said in her statement. “We must now embrace the spirit of transparency and turn the keys to City Hall over to the citizens of this community.”

“I feel that I have an obligation to provide new ways to make our government accountable to its citizens,” she said. – Source: FayObserver

Well, this morning there was some transparency and accountability in my inbox in the form of some interesting photos from the Fayetteville Mayoral Candidate’s Facebook page. A slick, white limo is center stage in an October 5th post: Continue reading

Apex Town Council Race: The Two Women With Moral Monday Ties

Wake up Apex, you’re being invaded by two women who have participated in the Moral Monday mockery of NC voters. Both have ties to the very Left leaning NC Justice Center (founder of Blueprint NC) and both have been to Moral Monday, although only one was arrested in front of her twin four year-olds. Continue reading

Wake School Board District 2 Race – Debt & Tax Issues

It appears that Wake County School Board Candidate for District 2, Monika Johnson Hostler hasn’t been up front with voters. Hostler failed to disclose her debt issues totaling close to $18,000, delinquency in property taxes and her past opinion in the Crystal Mangum/Duke Lacrosse Team case. Continue reading

The Democrat Candidate and the Sex Offender

I haven’t been commenting on too many stories outside of Benghazi, Moral Monday and Common Core these days, but this one by Moe Lane at Townhall caught my eye, Martha Robertson (D CAND, New York-23) to accept fundraiser from child molester.
Apparently, convicted child molester, Peter Yarrow, is headlining a fundraiser for Robertson and she’s seemingly nonplussed about his past. My revulsion meter just went off the charts. What is it with NY and sexual deviants? Moe Lane sums it up: Continue reading

#BlueprintNC Mondays Losing Steam… But Not Caskets?

This was Moral Monday 18. This one was a “Youth” led event complaining about SB 589 also known as VIVA. The turn out was the biggest event ever! About two dozen turned out from the looks of the ABC 11 shot:

Protest Fatigue or have they worn out their welcome like Occupy? Maybe both.
I found two live streams of the event and both kept the camera zoomed in on the speaker. When they did pan, all 3 or so dozen people were clapping wildly and I am including the throng around the podium in that assessment. (Stream 1, Stream 2)

By the way, Reverend Barber got up last and went on to talk about the Birmingham bombing. Barber went on to say that the blood of those 4 girls who were murdered in Birmingham 50 years ago was now on the hands of the members of the NCGA, Speaker Tillis and Governor McCrory. Continue reading

PPP Flawed Methodology Not A Bug, But A Feature?

In my travels this morning, I spied an article at New Republic about Public Policy Polling entitled, There’s Something Wrong With America’s Premier Liberal Pollster – The problem with PPP’s methodology. The article points out that PPP has been deleting questions to avoid criticism, following no consistent methodology, bad sampling and, in essence, weighting questions to get the results they like.
Excerpts with emphasis added:

After examining PPP’s polls from 2012 and conducting a lengthy exchange with PPP’s director, I’ve found that PPP withheld controversial elements of its methodology, to the extent it even has one, and treated its data inconsistently….. Continue reading
