NC Budget Signed By McCrory

The North Carolina $21 billion dollar budget has been signed by Governor McCrory.

NC GOP Judicial Candidate Endorsements

The NC GOP has released its list of Judicial candidates they are endorsing for the upcoming election this November. Below the fold, I’ve included the announcement with the endorsements. These races are important; especially the races for Supreme Court. All the work done by citizens and the legislature can be undone by one activist judge. Consider the Levinson and Martin races carefully.

#DM7 Article: NC AG Refusing To Defend NC Marriage Amendment

North Carolina’s Attorney General, Roy Cooper, is taking a page out of the Obama administration’s book in defending the state’s Constitution. Cooper has made a statement that he will no longer be defending North Carolina’s Constitutional Amendment 1 on marriage.

The Amendment 1 ballot measure was born from 3 bills, but SB 514 came out of the fray and went forward. Amendment 1 was passed by over 61% of the vote on the 2012 ballot. Cooper commented he made this decision after a decision by the 4th Circuit that a similar law in Virginia violates the 14th amendment. I guess the 10th amendment didn’t carry as much weight. Charlotte Observer Associate Editor Takes Pot Shots At McCrory

Another day, another display of editorial hackery from the Charlotte Observer /News and Observer. Associate Editor Peter St. Onge is either truly ignorant on Common Core or willfully so. Either way, he’s using it to bash Governor McCrory and either way, I’m glad we don’t subscribe to this outlet. What biased garbage.
Pssst – Mr. St. Onge? Do you realize McCrory’s base is beginning to think he’s selling out to the Democrats in trying to be Jim Hunt 2.0? Just look at his administration.

Much of Occupy Monday’s complaints have been based on driving a select few narratives. One of the big ones, teacher pay, was just busted. Wonder how this will impact former Kay Hagan staffer Chris Sgro’s activism with very Left leaning Equality North Carolina and in his support of Occupy Monday?
