Campaign Signs In #NC16 Swiped

Yesterday I received word of Republican candidate signs for the Wake County Commissioners race being swiped.

Today, I was sent a note from NC16, where Molotov Mitchel is taking on Senator Josh Stein. A banner of Mitchell’s was allegedly stolen off a fence somewhere in District 16. See the email snippet at the bottom of the article.

Frankly, in NC 16 there should be no contest here.

Senator Stein has made his support of the deeply flawed and experimental Common Core crystal clear over the last year. He ignored the testimony of over 40 parents and educators and instead, ran with the prepared talking points from the Chamber of Commerce.

Parents should know I’ve witnessed first hand that Stein no interest in your children or high standards, he’s more concerned with smooth talking points — oh, and implying you’re a racist if you don’t support Common Core. Flashback to May, 2014:

Planned Parenthood, Blueprint NC Partner Send Out Pricey Fliers To Teen Males

Three glossy, 3 page front and back color fliers were sent to their son. Three from Planned Parenthood’s Action Fund and three the non-profits behind Aim Higher NC, North Carolina Citizens for Protecting Our Schools. Anyone who knows printing costs knows these fliers were not cheap.

Progress NC’s “AIM HIGHER” Using Emails To Push Candidates

Progress NC’s education front group, Aim Higher, is sending out emails telling you what specific candidates ‘value’ public education.

Aim Higher fails to mention that Adcock is a SAS employee who supports Common Core, Turner’s site is virtually devoid of where he stands on the issues, much less any detail beyond the Blueprint NC style attack on education. Turner is very friendly with far Left Moral Monday candidates.

Also left out was that Hanchette was arrested at Moral Monday and is involved with one of Blueprint NC’s partners, Equality NC.

That’s not valuing education, that’s valuing the take-over of education by un-elected outside trade groups and corporations.

NC Governor’s Common Core Commission Pick Swings and Wiffs

Andre Peek wants to talk to experts on Common Core English Language Art.

Will the Governor’s pick start out this ballgame by at least hitting a line drive towards learning the facts? Let’s see — Via News and Observer, emphasis added:

Andre Peek, co-chairman of the new Academic Standards Review Commission, said the body wants to first make sure that it’s familiar with the current Common Core standards before recommending changes to the State Board of Education. He said the commission will review English language arts on Monday and math in November.

Peek said Robin McCoy, director of K-12 curriculum and instruction at the state Department of Public Instruction, will explain the language arts standards to the commission. He said they wanted to hear from people like McCoy who are experts in the subject matter. Continue reading
