NM US Senate Race: Closer Than You Think

Now that the dust has settled, the post-election hang over is gone and the votes have been counted I wish to direct your attention to the New Mexico Senate race. Yes, I know it has been decided, but it was closer than you think.

Incumbent Senator Tom Udall (D) faced off against businessman Allen Weh (R) on November 4th and won. The votes were 286,462 (55.56%) to 229,164 (44.44%).

The sitting Democrat really had nothing to worry about in the blue state of New Mexico. However, looking back into history at the 2008 election results shows a different scenario.

In 2008, Senator Tom Udall, then a 5 term Congressman was running for the Senate seat held by retiring incumbent Pete Domenici (R) against incumbent Congressman Steve Pearce. Ultimately Udall won with 505,128 (61.3%) to Pearce’s 318,522 (38.7%).

In 2008, the Democrats swept most the senate seats to gain a super majority. We all know this history. New Mexico would be considered a lost cause in 08. When asked if the NRSC would be walking away from the New Mexico Race (it was heavily favored to flip Democratic), Senator John Ensign stated to the Wall Street Journal:

“You don’t waste money on races that don’t need it or you can’t win.”

More On Bergdahl: The Anissa Files

On Saturday, June 7th I contacted Doug Ross with information that I had found regarding Robert Bergdahl and one of his connections on Google+; one was an individual who was a self-proclaimed Al Qaeda member. Doug ran the story titled, ‘WELL, THIS IS INTERESTING: Looks Like Bowe Bergdahl’s Father Was in Contact With Al Qaeda”.

I did a follow-up article on June 8th titled, Robert Bergdahl: In his Circles, which explained the reasons why I went digging in the first place into Robert Bergdahl’s social media accounts. The article, however, did not go into detail on who Anissa bint Youssef Ibn Yusuf Zaid really is, who she says she is, and what other related information I had found including aliases.

Robert Bergdahl: In His Circles

The media has been digging over the last six days not only into the release of Bowe Bergdahl, but into the series of events that led up to his “walking away from his post” and what occurred there after. The prisoner swap for Bowe Bergdahl’s release of the “five most dangerous detainees” in GITMO has churned up bi-partisan anger, concerns for our current military serving overseas and questions of constitutionality.

Many in D.C. agree that giving in to the demands of the Taliban for thier version of a command structure “Dream Team” was NOT worth the trade of one soldier with a “questionable” history and alleged desertion charges.

James Everett Dutschke Sentenced to 25 Years

UPDATE:

After last weeks dramatic attempt of change of plea, James Everett Dutschke has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for the making and mailing of ricin to elected officials.

According to Djournal, before handing down the sentence, Judge Aycock asked Mr. Dutschke if he would like to speak, Dutschke replied before laughing:
