Fay Observer Op-Ed Politicizes Common Core

Again, those complaining the most about ‘politicizing’ the Common Core are the biggest offenders of said complaining.

Case in point — Fay Observer has a hacktastic Op-Ed up which hits the politicizing path and contains all the vitriol, rhetoric and shutuppery that Common Core opposition have come to know from Supporters. Quick snippet for your amusement:
Unfortunately, some of those with an extreme education agenda have won seats in our General Assembly and are pushing to erode the Common Core curriculum standards that educators worked so hard to put in place. Continue reading

Charlotte Observer’s Flanno Politicizes Common Core

Another day, another attempt to politicize Common Core from someone complaining people are politicizing Common Core….
We get a dose of “politicizing” Common Core from Charlotte Observer’s Fannie Flanno and I fire back. Continue reading

Sen. Tillman Calls Out N&O’s Common Core ‘Liberal Fluff’

I applaud the efforts by the NC General Assembly’s Common Core Legislative Research Committee. They are righting a wrong in stopping the experiment that is Common Core in North Carolina.
On that same note, I applaud Senator Tillman for calling out our local media’s bias on Common Core. From his latest news letter: Continue reading

Assoc. Editor of Charlotte Observer pens Common Core Politization Piece

The associate editor of the Charlotte Observer is a clueless Common Core Propaganda pawn. I’m linking the NCspin posting of an ‘article’ by Fannie Flono because I won’t give the Charlotte Observer traffic for this egregiously incorrect piece of what can only be called propaganda.

Maybe Flono should stick to writing on “news, politics, and life in The Carolinas”. Flono is an ‘opinion’ writer, but anyone in North Carolina knows that in the News and Observer and Charlotte Observer, they write opinion to read like it is fact. Rarely in the last year has there been an article in local media that has dug into the truth about Common Core instead of parroting supporter talking points. This one was no different.

So again, I called the bias out. Continue reading

The Way the Media Manipulates the Way We Think About Guns

By Darren Davis

America is at war right now. There are people that are fighting tooth and nail to deny our right to the 2nd Amendment. There is no way we can deny that there has been an abundance of violence lately. We have the shooting in Aurora, the Sandy Hook Shooting, the shooting of Trayvon Martin, the list goes on and on. As tragic as these events are, the media seems to be looking at things the wrong way. By doing this, we have legislators that are actually suggesting that we place limits on our right to bears arms. This reaction is heavy-handed and isn’t going to solve the actual problem.
