The trial for former New Hanover County Public schools band teacher Peter Frank will begin on May 9.  The trial was supposed to start earlier this year but was pushed back due to a “recent surge in COVID-19 cases.”

Rockingham schools “community soccer coach” charged with indecent liberties (Update: Convicted)

A man described as a “community soccer coach” at a Rockingham County Public Schools high school is facing charges of taking indecent liberties with a student.

UPDATE: Amiel Cervantes-Espinosa was convicted Aug. 31, 2022, on two counts of taking indecent liberties with a student and giving alcohol to a minor. Per state records, he was given a sentence of two years of “community supervision.”

Former UNSCA violin teacher sentenced to five years for sex trafficking
