Two former Fred T. Foard High School teachers are in court this week stemming from their back to back 2017 arrests pertaining to sex acts with students.

The Hickory Record reported on Jeb Bass and Kyle Kanupp’s court appearances this week:

» Jeb Stuart Bass is charged with one felony count of statutory rape and one felony count of sexual offense. Bass was a teacher at Fred T. Foard High school. He taught social studies and was a coach. He is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student. He was indicted on those charges in May 2017.

» Kyle William Kanupp is a former Fred T. Foard High School teacher assistant who faces four felony counts of taking indecent liberties with female students at the school. He was indicted on those charges in June 2017.

Fred T. Foard High School is in the Catawba County district.

Jeb Bass has a teachers license that expired in June of 2017. Kannup does not appear to have a North Carolina Teaching License.

Bass does not appear on the teacher license revocation list maintained by the NC State Board of Education.  The list also appears not to have been updated since June.
