Wake County assistant principal charged with DWI

A Wake County Public Schools assistant principal was arrested on a DWI charge.

Lindsay Kristin Anderson, age 41, was arrested by the N.C. State Highway Patrol on Feb. 24 on a charge of driving while impaired.

The charge is a misdemeanor under N.C. Gen. Stat. § 20-138.1.  Driving while impaired charges have a one to five range that considers mitigating and aggravating factors with five being the least severe.

Depending on if the charge is a first offense, Anderson’s license will be revoked for one year under state statute per the NC DMV. A second offense has a penalty of revoking the license for four years and a third or subsequent offense results in permanent license suspension.

Future court dates and bond amount information are not known at this time. Anderson was booked at 9:51 p.m. and bonded out a few hours later at 10:57 p.m.

Anderson is an assistant principal at Willow Springs High School, according to the school’s website. The profile says “Anderson has been in Wake County since she was 2.5 years old and is a product of WCPSS,” and that she is a “two-time graduate of North Carolina State University and East Carolina University.”

According to Anderson’s Facebook page, she graduated from NC State University in 2003 with a degree in psychology. She also earned a graduate degree from the same school in 2005 in the area of special education.

Anderson’s Facebook page also includes a profile pic that shows her holding a sign that says “Trump is Trippin.”

The bio says Anderson has been with Wake County Public Schools for 18 years. Before working at Willow Springs, she was employed at East Garner Magnet Middle School for 12 years as a Behavior Support Teacher and Cross Categorical Resource Teacher

A request for an official statement has been placed with the district as well as a request for Anderson’s full employment history.

Around 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 26, parents of students and Willow Springs received a message from the principal of the school. The message indicates Anderson has been suspended “pending an investigation.”

A parent shared that message with this website:
