Read the Anti-Trump Article Sent to Staff at NC Elementary after 2016 Election

Do you know what your child is being indoctrinated with in school?

The day after the 2016 election, a Guidance counselor at an NC Elementary school sent out an anti-Trump themed email to staff titled, “What do we tell the children?”

The main body of the email appears to be copied and pasted from a Huffington Post article.

The guidance counselor, identified in the email as Emily Piquet of Mary Scroggs Elementary, did not attribute the article in her email to the Huffington Post.

Officials at the school did not respond for comment. The district the school resides in did not comment on the request for a copy of this email.

The main theme of the Huffington Post article is that President Trump is a racist, a bigot and that he’s dangerous – and so is anyone who supports him:

“Tell them, first, that we will protect them. Tell them that we have democratic processes in the U.S. that make it impossible for one mean person to do too much damage. Tell them that we will protect those democratic processes and we will use them so that Trump is unable to act on many of the false promises he made during his campaign.”

The copied Huffington Post article goes on to paint the election of President Trump as an overt act of bigotry; the inference to be drawn here is that anyone who voted for Trump must be a bigot:

“Tell them, second, that you will honor the outcome of the election, but that you will fight bigotry. Tell them bigotry is not a democratic value, and that it will not be tolerated at your school. Tell them you stand by your Muslim families. Your same-sex parent families. Your gay students. Your Black families. Your female students. Your Mexican families. Your disabled students. Your immigrant families. Your trans students. Your Native students. Tell them you won’t let anyone hurt them or deport them or threaten them without having to contend with you first.”

Read the full email from Piquet.

At the end of Piquet’s email, she includes several additional “resources.”  Those resources include anti-Trump articles from the Washington Post and NY Times.

The resources also include a link to the Southern Poverty Law Center’s offshoot, “Teaching Tolerance.”

The link for Teaching Tolerance at the end of the email takes one to a generic page on the website. A quick search for ‘Donald Trump’ on the website, however, yields a slew of anti-Trump screeds, such as one entitled,Don’t neglect those emotions.  That particular entry paints Trump supports as violent and hate-filled racists.

Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), and its offshoot Teaching Tolerance, are biased, not credible and unquestionably left leaning.  A cursory look at the materials on both sites shows an anti-Trump theme.

Teaching Tolerance has been found in multiple districts across the state of North Carolina in recent years; much of the material has been ‘anti-bullying’ curriculum.  This is ironic, since their parent organization, SPLC, has a long history of bullying various groups specifically via their prolific hate map.”

While many of the groups they list are generally accepted by most as ‘hate groups’ or at the very least, distasteful, many SPLC places on the map are simply groups that are not aligned with Leftist ideology.

For example, in North Carolina, a group called Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC) is on the hate map.  So is the Providence Road Baptist Church, which was likely placed on the hate map because its pastor is outspoken against gay marriage.

SPLC was dropped by the FBI as a credible resource for the investigation of hate crimes after SPLC’s “hate map” was used by a man named Floyd Lee Corkins in 2012 to attempt a mass shooting at the Family Research Council.

Corkins went to the Family Research Council headquarters armed with a 9mm handgun and a bagful of Chick-Fil-A sandwiches. He specifically stated to law enforcement that the “hate map” had helped him to target the organization because SPLC said they were anti-gay.

Corkins said that he wanted to, “kill as many as possible and smear the Chick-Fil-A sandwiches in victims’ faces, and kill the guard.” The guard managed to stop him but was wounded in the process.

At Middlebury College just this year, SPLC was involved in inciting an activist riot in which a professor was assault and ended up in a neck brace.

It’s worth noting that in 2014, SPLC, along with the left-leaning North Carolina Justice Center and the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, sued the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction alleging that certain districts had denied school enrollment to illegal alien children.

SPLC and Teaching Tolerance both push a narrative that schools should be ‘sanctuaries’ for illegal aliens.  There will be more on this illegal immigration narrative in a coming article.

Now factor in that Teaching Tolerance is promoting these materials as “Common Core aligned.

Read more about Teaching Tolerance in this five-part series:

This is all quite a lot to take in, so let’s review:

  • Teaching Tolerance’s parent organization inspired a mass shooter based on their own “hate map.”
  • SPLC was apparently involved in orchestrating a riot on a college campus.
  • SPLC has sued NC’s Dept. of Public Instruction on the subject of illegal alien children.
  • SPLC dumped by the FBI as a credible source for investigating hate crimes.
  • Teaching Tolerance touts their materials as “Common Core aligned.”

Let it sink in that this organization and it’s ‘education’ offshoot, ironically called “Teaching Tolerance,” are pumping curriculum materials into classrooms nationwide. Materials that include disparaging the President and are anti-Trump administration themed.

Parents, do you know if these materials are being presented to your child or are being used at their school? If not, time to start going through that backpack each night.
