The NCGA has a Republican super majority for the first time in decades and they are using their advantage to get quite a bit accomplished. This has naturally thrown the Democrats in North Carolina into full meltdown mode.
I posted a brief comment on ConMom about the meltdown in progress:

The rising hysterical tone and tactics coming out of the Left in NC is something to pay attention to. For the first time in decades, Conservatives have a super-majority in the NC General Assembly with a Republican in the Governor’s mansion to boot. Dems are scared and getting particularly ugly. A main reason for that is the legislation that the NCGA is managing to get processed so quickly – guns, obamacare, schools. The unholy trinity of progressives.
People need to tune into the shenanigans by the NAACP in NC that have been going on for a while now – most notably the protests and circus like atmosphere created by Reverend Barber. His multiple arrests and cries of racism in relation to the Wake County School board changes to school assignment and busing have worn thin. The NAACP has teamed up with radical groups like Occupy NCSU, Occupy Raleigh, Debt Strike Raleigh, NC Student Power Union and the AFL-CIO in recent rallies (Check out Youtube for ‘HK on J 2013′). The rhetoric was positively socialist and the tone can be seen as very inflammatory.
Elected Democrats and Progressives in NC have also teamed up with groups like BluePrint NC to get their talking points and “eviscerate the opposition”. BluePrint NC itself is tied to all of the groups listed prior. The organized Left is mobilizing and linking arms in North Carolina. Ignore it at your peril.
UPDATE: Cue Dems freaking out in 3…2…1
More on that last link about HB 716 here. There hasn’t been a big reaction to it yet, mainly because Planned Parenthood is too busy trying to force those with moral objections to provide abortions:

HB 730 is the Healthcare Conscience Protection Act. It allows doctors to refuse to provide abortions if it goes against their conscience and allows for religiously affiliated businesses to request policies that do not cover contraception. Full text here.
Back to the meltdown in progress
This complete meltdown has been ramping up for months. Let’s run down the recent timeline of temper tantrums, drama and new tone:
January 2013: HK on J rally in Raleigh draws every leftist organization, including Occupy, out under one banner. Racism, social justice, wages, class warfare — all of it was on display that day.
February 2013: BluePrint NC is caught distributing talking points that include ‘eviscerating the opposition’ to various groups in the state, including legislators. Also of note, BluePrint NC has ties to Jim Goodmon who owns Capital Broadcasting and local media outlet WRAL.
March 2013: Mary-Ann Baldwin has her dog pee on the pillars of the NCGA to ‘send a message’ to the GOP.
April 2013: State Senator Angela Bryan compares the NCGA’s GOP to the Boston Bombers on Twitter.
April and May 2013: 49 are arrested during NAACP protest of NCGA in Raleigh. It was quite childish — blocking doors and being a general nuisance. They had to bus them in. Bonus: Randy ‘raping’ Voller’ is interviewed in the clip. Reverend Barber, of course, is leading the racist chants. That’s all he ever does.
May 2013: NC Democratic Party Chairman Randy Voller makes a remark that the NC GOP is “raping” the state.
Of note: They plan to make these protests go on every single Monday, calling them “Moral Mondays“. More at AFL-CIO NC on the weekly protests. From the looks of who was arrested, there seem to be a lot of academics involved. In particular, professors from Duke University:
They beclown themselves. Duke University should be asking for their resignations.
All the same slogans from the SEIU/MoveOn.org and Occupy protests are coming back again:
Protestors held up signs saying “Worker’s rights are union rights” and led booming call-and-response chants of “This is what Democracy looks like!” and “fight, fight, fight!” Source: WRAL
Flashback: What I saw at the MoveOn/SEIU Rally Playlist
It’s going to be an interesting year.

Republicans last had control of North Carolina during reconstruction, and they have indeed accomplished quite a bit to take us back to those days. What’s next on the chopping block, women’s suffrage? Wouldn’t be surprised.

Nothing that has been passed takes us backwards like liberals are crying about. The rhetoric level is amazing given the facts don’t match the claims — even your own comment is void of any factual content and is a pile of hysteria.
