A former Wake County Public Schools teacher had pleaded guilty to multiple charges of first degree forcible rape, as well as kidnapping and other sex offense charges stemming from a rape committed near Glenwood South on June 13, 2022.

The rape occurred near Glenwood South, an area known for its bars and nightlife, on June 13, 2022. The victim was a stranger to Becker.

CBS 17 has a detailed article on Becker’s sentencing hearing, including details that Becker initially claimed he had no memory of attacking the woman because he was “blackout drunk,” yet an Uber driver who drove Becker home heard him bragging on a cell phone call about the rape.
CBS 17 reported that the district attorney recounted in court the victim “tried to fight back, but eventually thought she was going to die if she kept fighting.
“After he was finished raping her, Becker kissed the victim on the forehead, and said “kiss on the forehead goodnight.” It was later revealed in the hearing that Becker said that phrase to his wife every night before going to sleep,” CBS 17’s article says.
Becker and his wife were divorced following his arrest.
