A Franklin County Public Schools teacher has been charged with a sex crime involving a student.

ZACHARY MICHAEL REYNOLDS
Zachary Michael Reynolds, age 23, was charged with taking indecent liberties with a student on May 17 by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
A $15,000 secured bond was issued to Reynolds. He was taken into custody at 8:39 pm. By 9:17 pm, Reynolds had posted his bond and was released.
An investigation into allegations reported to the authorities of an inappropriate relationship with a student by a teacher at an area high school led to the charges being filed.

Reynolds is a social studies teacher at Bunn High School. The district has not yet issued a formal statement and his employment status is yet unknown.
“Mr. Reynolds’ final day of employment was 5.18.23. We have completed all required reporting regarding this incident,” Dawayne McIntosh, communications director for Franklin County Public Schools said in an email.
A teaching license was found on file with the state for Reynolds in the area of Social Studies 9-12. That license expires on June 30, 2023.
