Burlington Police were notified on 11-15-24 of an alleged assault on a student by a teacher on school property.
Following an investigation, police indicated the alleged assaults happened over the course of several weeks and police arrested Edwards on 11-18-24.

“We informed Andrews Elementary staff and families this evening about a situation involving a staff member who had been placed under investigation by the Burlington Police Department for incidents that occurred at school. When we became aware of the incident, we reported it to the authorities and have been fully cooperating with their investigation. We were notified that the staff member had been charged with assault after the school day ended. The staff member has been suspended pending the investigation.”
