Tiffany Krystine Ebron, age 29, has been charged with one count of misdemeanor child abuse, one count of assault on a child under the age of 12, and one count of assault on an individual with a disability.

Ebron was arrested on school property by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 19.

According to the arrest records, the charges date to Nov. 14 related to an alleged assault of a nine-year-old child.

Ebron allegedly lifted the child’s feet causing the child to hit the back of his head on the floor and then dragged the boy across the floor by their legs and feet. As a result, the boy had rug burns on his stomach, arms, and head.

Ebron, a Special Programs Instructional Assistant at East Garner Elementary School, was suspended following her arrest per a statement from the school’s principal.

“I want to assure you that we take the safety of our students and staff members very seriously,” said East Garner Elementary Principal Carmen Graf in a press statement. “While privacy laws prevent me from providing much additional information about the situation, I can share that Ms. Ebron is suspended.”

There is no teaching license on file with the state for Ebron.
