Clinton Justin Jones, age 43, was arrested on Oct. 10 and was charged with 20 counts of First-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

The investigation was conducted by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation I.C.A.C. unit and the Anson County Sheriff’s Office.

Jones is currently in the Anson County Jail under a $200,000.00 secured bond. His first court date is Oct. 16.

This is not Jones’ first arrest for similar charges.

On Dec. 30, 2021, Jones was arrested by the SBI and Anson County Sheriff’s deputies for 18 counts of 3rd-degree sexual exploitation. At that time, Jones was issued a $150,000 secured bond which he posted and was released. Jones was teaching at Ansonville Elementary School at the time.

As part of the 2021 arrest, the SBI and Anson County Sheriff’s Office searched Jones’ home in Wadesboro and uncovered hundreds of child sexual exploitation photos and videos on smartphones, computers, and other media storage devices.

Jones’ 2021 arrest case appears to still be pending at the time of his arrest on Oct. 10.

The school district indicated Jones was suspended on Friday, Oct. 13 but subsequently resigned in violation of the 30-day notice required by state law.

The teaching license held by Jones in the area of Elementary Education (K-6) expired on June 30, 2022. The license has been revoked by the Department of Public Instruction.

Jones entered guilty pleas on Sept. 25, 2024, to at least eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. The charges were consolidated for judgement and he has been sentenced to a minimum of four years and ten months and a maximum of ten years in prison per charge; a maximum of 20 years behind bars with a release date in 2032.
