Six NC Teachers Coming Off Suspension in 2019

According to the State Board of Education records on licensure and discipline, six teachers in North Carolins will have suspensions lifted in 2019.

Susan Mendell
Suspended on June 1, 2017, she will have her suspension lifted on June 30,2019.  Mendell had been suspended for “Use of alcohol during school hours on school grounds.” According to the State Board’s license revocation page, Mendell’s status was posted in two months later, in August of 2017.

Ethan Baird
Suspended in July of 2017 for “Inappropriate communication w/student on Instagram.” Baird can apply for reinstatement on December 1 of this year.

Jamihal Bond
Suspended in June of 2018 for “evasive and untruthful w/law enforcement.” As of June 30th, his suspension will be over.

Norma McLamb
Action was taken against Lamb by the Board in November of 2017, but her suspension began August 24, 2017.  Her suspension ends August 25th,  just before the 2019-2020 school year starts. McLamb’s suspension was for “inappropriate discipline.”

Nikki Rana
Suspended on July 1, 2018, Rana had been suspended for “inappropriate discipline of student.” Her suspension is listed as ending on of June 30, 2019. Record of her suspension on the State Board website is listed as “October 2018.”

Grady Elrod
Elrod was suspended on July 1, 2018, but did not appear on the Revoked License list until October of 2018. He was suspended for “Inappropriate behavior with student teacher.”  His suspension is listed as ending on June 30, 2019.
