A Cleveland County Public Schools bus driver was arrested for driving while impaired while running her route with children on the bus.

Raven Ross Fite, age 27, was arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired and Reckless Driving to Endanger.
Fite was jailed under a $2,500 bond.
A school resource officer at Union Elementary School alerted other law enforcement that Fite was possibly impaired, according to reports.
Troopers indicated that after Fite was taken into custody, she was then taken to a local hospital for a blood-alcohol level test.
Cleveland County Schools issued a brief statement:
“We cannot provide any details regarding personnel matters but can confirm that our local Sheriff’s Office arrested a former bus driver today. The employee began in August of this school year and is currently under investigation.”
District officials said Fite was hired in August.
Including Fite, there have been 15 arrests of non-teaching public and non-public school staff tracked by this site in 2021.
