Additional sexual exploitation charges have been added in the recent arrest of an Iredell middle school teacher.
UPDATE: Kyle Christopher McKay was convicted on July 28, 2022, of one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and multiple counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor that were consolidated for judgment. He was sentenced to 30 months in prison and probation following his eventual release.
Per the N.C. Dept. of Public Instruction, his license was revoked on 5/15/23.

Iredell-Statesville County middle school teacher Kyle Christopher McKay, age 37, was arrested on July 23 by the Mooresville Police Department on the charge of one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The charge is a Class E felony punishable by a jail sentence of 15 to 63 months.
On the date of his arrest, McKay was issued a $100,000 secured bond and was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center on July 24.
Mooresville Police now indicate that on July 29 more charges were added to McKay’s arrest while he was still in custody. The new charges include two more counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Another $40,000 was added to McKay’s secured bond,
As of Aug. 6, records indicate McKay remains in custody at the Iredell County Detention Facility.
