An Iredell-Statesville Public Schools teacher has been arrested on an allegation he solicited nude photos from a teen.
Iredell-Statesville County middle school teacher Kyle Christopher McKay, age 37, was arrested on July 23 by the Mooresville Police Department on the charge of one count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The charge is a Class E felony punishable by a jail sentence of 15 to 63 months.
McKay was issued a $100,000 secured bond and was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center on July 24. As of July 28, records indicate that he remains in custody.

Iredell-Statesville Schools has indicated that McKay is currently suspended with pay pending an investigation. According to the school district, the alleged victim was not an Iredell-Statesville schools student.
