An 18-year-old Wake County Public Schools student arrested on statutory rape charges in January has had been charged with additional crimes.
In January, Michael Campbell McGill, age 18, was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree statutory rape and one count of statutory sex offense. The victim was a 12-year-old girl.
This past Tuesday, McGill was also charged with second-degree forcible rape and first-degree kidnapping.
Warrants show McGill is also accused of kidnapping a second female who is less than 16 years old. It’s unclear if more charges will again be added.
McGill had bail set at $1 million dollars, which was raised to over $2 million. He remains in custody at the Wake County Detention Center.
The alleged offenses were reported at Middle Creek High School in Wake County on Nov. 30, 2020. It is not yet clear if there are other victims. Cary Police are continuing to investigate.
