According to the Goldsboro Police Department (GDP), warrants were obtained on Aug. 6 charging Anthony Warren Riley, age 51, with four counts of Indecent Liberties with a child.

Riley turned himself in to the Wayne County Magistrate’s Office on Aug. 7. He was issued a $50,000.00 unsecured bond. His first appearance in Wayne County District Court will be on Aug 10.

The charges stem from reports made by two female victims. Both victims were 11 years old at the time the alleged assaults took place.

GDP first received the first complaint on June 23 describing an alleged sexual assault that took place in the mid-90s while the victim was attending Faith Christian Academy.
After investigating, another victim was identified. As before, the additional victim was a juvenile at the time of the incident. Both named Anthony Warren Riley as the perpetrator.

The case is ongoing and those who may have information related to the case are asked to contact Investigator Mitchell at 919-705-6572 or 919-580-4243 and/or call or text Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255 or submit a TIP at p3tips.com.

It is unclear at this time how recently Riley had been a teacher at the school.

The teacher license revocation page maintained by the State Board of Education lists an “Anthony Riley” having his license revoked in 2007 for “Controlled substance violation.” It is unclear if this is the same Anthony Riley recently arrested by the Goldsboro Police.

Under the NC teacher license lookup tool, the record for one “Anthony Riley” lists the status as revoked. The areas he was licensed in include School Administrator: Principal, Physical Education, Health Education and Physical Science Endorsement.
