A now-former Franklin County Public Schools substitute teacher has been charged with various sex crimes said to have occurred earlier this year.

PATRICK OTIS PERRY
Patrick Otis Perry, age 57, was arrested on Mar. 8 and was charged with three counts of felony indecent liberties with a child and two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s office.
Perry was apparently arrested at his residence in Wake County by deputies with help from the Wake Forest Police Department.
As of Mar. 9, he was still in custody at the Franklin County Detention Complex and had been issued a $120,000 secured bond.
Per the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the allegations were made while Perry was working as a substitute at Bunn Middle School. Officials indicated the alleged incidents had taken place between Jan. 17-18.
Perry has not worked in the Franklin County Public Schools district since Jan. 18. The district has not issued an official statement yet and is unclear at this time if he resigned or was fired.
Anyone with information regarding this case is urged to contact Detective Patrick Fuqua at 919-340-4302.
