Teachers in two different NC counties arrested on sex charges

Teachers in two different North Carolina counties were arrested on sex-related charges last week.

Eltayeb Elbashir, age 43, is accused of two counts of indecent liberties with two girls under 16 years old. No other details are known at this time about the incident or the victims.

According to a brief report by MyFox8, He was given a $50,000 bond and his next court date is on Sept. 12 and Elbashir is from Sudan originally and has been a US citizen since 2011.

LinkedIn lists his lastest employer as Bennett College in Greensboro as an English as a Second Language instructor.  Greensboro is located in Guilford County.

According to state teacher licensing records, Elbashir did hold an NC teaching license, however, it expired in 2014. The license Area(s) were for English 9-12 and English as a Second Language K-12.

Ryder Heith Webb, age 24, was charged with indecent liberties with a child and indecent liberties with a student on Aug. 14 according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Both charges are felonies.

Webb was being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.

The 16-year-old student’s parents contacted law enforcement to report that their child and Webb had been involved sexually. The alleged contact began when the student was 15 and Webb was 23.

Wayne County Public Schools issued a statement that said Webb was suspended with pay on Aug. 12.  He resigned two days later on Wednesday, Aug 14, the same day he was arrested.

Webb was a social studies teacher at C.B. Aycock High School beginning in August 2017. State licensing records show that Webb has a valid license for teaching 9-12 Social Studies that expires in June 2020.
