CMS Exceptional Children’s Assistant Arrested for Assault, Strangulation

An Exceptional Children’s Teacher’s Assistant in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Schools district has been arrested on several charges including assault and strangulation.

Jordan Woods - CMS- Quiet EpidemicJordan Woods, age 29, was charged with one felony count of assault by strangulation, one misdemeanor count of assault on a female and two misdemeanor counts of injury to real property.

According to police reports, Woods allegedly threw a woman to the ground, pulled her hair and choked her.

Woods was arrested on Wednesday, January 30th.  He has been issued a $1,500 unsecured bond.

According to the district, Woods has been teaching at the Rocky River High School for a year and a half and has been suspended with pay.

Woods was also a football coach at Rocky River High. The school has not issued a public statement.
