An Exceptional Children’s Teacher’s Assistant in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Public Schools district has been arrested on several charges including assault and strangulation.
Jordan Woods, age 29, was charged with one felony count of assault by strangulation, one misdemeanor count of assault on a female and two misdemeanor counts of injury to real property.
According to police reports, Woods allegedly threw a woman to the ground, pulled her hair and choked her.
Woods was arrested on Wednesday, January 30th. He has been issued a $1,500 unsecured bond.
According to the district, Woods has been teaching at the Rocky River High School for a year and a half and has been suspended with pay.
Woods was also a football coach at Rocky River High. The school has not issued a public statement.
