Florida’s new Governor Ron DeSantis has said he will issue an Executive Order (EO) to remove Common Core. That’s a nice gesture but means nothing unless the Florida legislature and department of education act on it.

Local10.com carried the story on DeSantis’ EO:

“When you complained about Common Core, I hear you. I told you I would do something about it, and today we’re acting to bring those promises into reality,” DeSantis said.

This is a nice idea, but it will take more than an EO to dislodge Common Core. I find this especially amusing since it’s happening in Florida, which is Common Core JEB! country.

The Common Core cabal of Bill Gates-funded “education non-profits” will be on the scene soon.  If you listen carefully, you can hear the Common Core Hell Hounds coming for DeSantis in the distance. The new governor might wanna get Sam and Dean on the line.

The Local10.com story also quotes a man who after the Parkland shoot should not have a job anymore:

Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie said he welcomes the change.

“I welcome the opportunity to work with the governor and the commissioner of Education on revising standards and regulations to give local districts greater flexibility on curriculum and testing,” Runcie said in a statement. “We need fundamental reforms in public education that will give our teachers the freedom they need to better engage students. It is time to reduce our reliance on a testing culture that is more about ranking students on their potential, when our focus should be more on developing their potential.”

Runcie is the same man who ushered in the PROMISE discipline program “reform” which allowed Nikolas Cruz’s behavior to go unchecked and ultimately allowed Cruz to murder his classmates at Parkland High.
