Holder, who is Obama’s former Attorney General and the only AG ever to be held in contempt of Congress, was caught on video telling a group that they should not ‘go high’ in their battles with Republicans, but that “When they go low, we kick them.”
Here’s the clip:
Last week, candidate for NC Supreme Court Antia Earls campaigned in Charlotte North Carolina with disgraced former Attorney General Eric Holder.
Will Earls be disavowing or condemning these remarks or will she be lining up to take her kicks?
Earls bills herself as a “civil rights attorney.” Closer to the truth is that she’s a social justice warrior with a law degree and historically has been the attorney of choice for the radical left groups in the state of North Carolina.
Her lawfare activism has earned her awards from leftist groups like Moral Monday and Planned Parenthood. In addition, Earls holds in high esteem socialists like Alexandra Ocasio-Cortex.
Perhaps that’s because Earls’s a fan socialism herself?
According to the Rockwood Leadership Institute, Earls was a 2010 “National Leading From the Inside Out Alum” by the Rockwood Leadership Institute. Rockwood Leadership Institute is closely affiliated with the Freedom Road Socialist Organization.
Just prior to announcing her candidacy, Earls sat on the board of Blueprint NC, the far left “non-profit” which disseminated a memo to their partners calling for attacks on NC Republicans. In the memo, partners were encouraged to “cripple, slam and eviscerate” all elected Republican officials no matter what their message may be.
Campaign finance records show a ‘who’s who’ of the left in North Carolina donating to Earls’ campaign. Some of the first to throw their money behind Earls are the current and former executive directors of Blueprint NC, Erin Byrd and Sean Kosofsky. Radical leftist activist Gene Nichol of Democracy NC also chipped in.
Earls’ donations also come from some of the top Democrat operatives and leaders in the state including Governor Roy Cooper’s Director of Citizen Outreach, Angella Dunston.
Roy Cooper’s campaign treasurer Scott Falmlen is also a donor to Earls. Some might recall that Falmlen was at one time an NC Democratic Party Chairman or that he was subpoenaed during Governor Mike Easley’s the campaign finance scandal trial. As recently as 2012, Falmlen was caught up in a sexual harassment scandal that ripped through the NC Democrat party.
Leslie Winner, a Cooper Appointee to the Sound Education Commission, also has given money to Earls. Other high-profile Democrat donors and supporters include Governor Jim Hunt, Congressman GK Butterfield, and NC House Rep. Graig Meyer.
Socialists of a Feather Kick People Together?
Earls wasn’t the only NC Democrat cozying up to Holder and the Socialist Ocasio-Cortez.
Below is a tweet from Ryan Watts, who is currently challenging Republican Mark Walker. The graph of photos below also shows Watts chatting with Anita Earls in the top right corner.
Mr. Watts also is a fan of Ocasio-Cortez and his platform sounds and looks like something watered down from a Bernie Sanders speech.
Watts supporters who attended his town hall on July 13th cheered at the mention of Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
At the 27:44 mark of the video of the event, an audience member asks Watts what his thoughts are “on the rise of Democratic Socialism.”
Watts: How many of you… all of you can probably name… Alexandra Ocasio Cortez?
Audience cheers, “yeah!!”
Watts: She’s a member of the democratic socialists of America…and she’s also like me…28 years old. She is actually a couple of months older than me, so I still get to say I’m the youngest.
DSA members are not socialists, which is the most important thing to know.
there is a distinction between being a socialist and being a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. I realize there is the same word in there, but they don’t stand for identically the same things.
There are some differences between me and DSA members, but I respect where they are coming from and I respect where anyone comes from politically.
I do think that the route for the Democratic party going forward is to having people who can reach both ways in the Democratic party spectrum. Because the Democratic party does have a broad spectrum of belief from DSA to Blue Dog.
I so actually… I don’t even place myself on that spectrum because I think it depends on the issue. There might be some issues where I align somewhat closely with the DSA. And there might be others where I am more Blue Doggish.
