Cleveland County Teacher Arrested On Two Felony Counts Involving Student

A Cleveland County teacher was arrested this month on two felony counts that involve a 17-year-old student.

Emma Logan Costner, age 25, turned herself in to law enforcement officials and was charged with two felony counts of sex act with a student.

She was being held on a $10,000 secured bond at the Cleveland County Detention Center but has been released.

Capt. Jon Wright talks about the arrest of a former Crest High School teacher for allegedly having sex with a student:

Costner began teaching at Crest High School as a math teacher on Aug. 16, 2017.

She resigned on Sept. 25, 2018, which is just one day after the investigation into her relationship with a 17-year-old male student was initiated.

Because Costner did not give a 30-day notice as required by state law, the district can request that the state board of education revoke her license.

TYVM – The official I spoke to said male, but I am checking other sources which seem to indicate what you have said here is true. I have removed the gender listed until I can confirm.
