For those of you paying attention to the primary shenanigans going on in North Carolina this year, the quality Democrat candidates I’ve covered and the series I’ve been doing on various judicial races, this item will fit right in. I briefly touched on this race, but had not really dug into it properly. So, here’s some digging in.
It’s been called to my attention that one of the candidates for Wake County District Attorney who is registered as a Republican has a history of supporting Democrats. Jeff Cruden has voted Democrat in no less than 6 primary elections. Via NC Board of Elections:
Election | Voted Method | Voted County | Voted Party |

11/02/2010 GENERAL | ABS-1STOP | WAKE | |

Cruden is promoting himself as having more experience than Jefferson Griffin, but is he talking about experience in the law or in voting Democrat?
Caveat Emptor, Wake County voters.
UPDATE: Apparently, Cruden isn’t alone. See below. Ouch.
Wake County District Attorney: John Bryant Running as a Republican
I met with a John Bryant today. John Bryant has run for office three times in Wake County, first as a Democrat, and lost the other two times. That is not a good track record as a Republican. He’s entered the race as a Republican candidate for District Attorney. I haven’t met a single a Republican supporter of Bryant.
