Moral Monday FL Recycled Rhetoric

Well, I told you last Spring that Rev. Barber and his BlueprintNC pals would try to spread Moral Monday. So far, little outcroppings of it have sprung up in Georgia, New York and Alabama. Now we have one in Florida, which displays the rhetoric and theatrics of the NC version citizens have come to tune out.

There’s a few examples of what I’m talking about below, but first a few observations from my Magnificent Seven boss, Da Tech Guy:

Some quick examples:

TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) – Several protesters are meeting at the State Capital building in a movement they are calling Moral Monday.

“Our state should no longer abide by the atrocities wreaked on the poor, the young, the working-class, people of color and countless other constituencies,” stated Adora Obi Nweze, President of the NAACP Florida State Conference, in a previously released statement.

Several groups are part of the initiative including the NAACP, Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood, Equality Florida, Florida Consumer Action Network, and the Florida SEIU.

“Several protesters”. The buses from out of state must not have arrived yet.  Planned Parenthood, SEIU… what, no occupy yet? It’s once again the Left of the Left coming out.

I spoke too soon. Here are the buses:

TBO.com- Hundreds of protestors filled the plaza of the Capitol Monday morning to hammer the agenda outlined by Gov. Rick Scott and Republican lawmakers.

The event, dubbed “Moral Monday,” was organized in large part by the NAACP, which had protestors bussed in from all corners of the state. The rally comes one day before the opening of the 2014 legislative session.

Even in Florida, it’s not really about these issues, it’s about loss of power and slamming Republicans. More slamming:

NAPLES NEWS – From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Harold Weeks, president of Collier County’s chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, met at the steps of the state capital building to protest the Republican agenda, according to a press release.

Issues at the forefront included: jobs, gun control, abortion rights, equal rights and expansion of Medicaid.

All the Lefty hot buttons are in play, including gun control. So is it about gun control? No, not really. It’s about invoking Trayvon Martin’s name erroneously with relation to Stand Your Ground laws in order to whip up dissent.  When it comes to Moral Monday and their BlueprintNC agenda, remember:

“The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.”

Reminder: This is also part of Organize the South or Die.
