On Wednesday, August 21, 2024, The Eden Police Department received a report alleging that there was misconduct involving the Theatre of the Arts teacher at Morehead High School and at least one student.
After a thorough investigation and consulting with the Rockingham County District Attorney’s Office, Detective Sergeant Aubrie Stoneman secured warrants on 24-Year old Jesse Michael Morris for the following:
• 1 Count of Indecent Liberties with a Child (Felony)
• 1 Count of Taking Indecent Liberties with a Student by a Teacher (Felony)
Jesse Michael Morris was transported to the Rockingham County Magistrates office where he received a $75,000 secured bond, and is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on August 29, 2024.
At this time the investigation is ongoing, and due to the age of the victim, no further information will be released at this time.
