A former Wilkes County Public Schools teacher has been arrested on an accusation of child abuse involving a 6-year-old girl.

Victim /Case Details:
The victim is not a student at the school where Cave was employed.
Cave is accused of hitting a 6-year-old girl across the face with a paddle of some type, knocking her to the ground, and also dragging her by the leg.
According to police, Cave’s wife confirmed this allegation, which allegedly took place on Feb. 21.
The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office served the arrest warrant on Cave at East Wilkes High School.
The investigation is still ongoing and is being conducted by the Jonesville Police Department.
