The charge has been dropped against a Lincoln County Public Schools teacher who was accused of assaulting a student.

In May 2023, Geoff Larry Harte was originally charged with simple assault on a student as the result of an interaction in a hallway at school.

Per documentation provided to this website by Harte, the charge has been resolved but at the cost of his job and reputation.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged incident occurred as Harte and a student were approaching each other in a hallway and Harte struck the 14-year-old student with his elbow.
