Quiet Epidemic 2021: 24 reported NC public school education arrests

During the calendar year 2021, 24 North Carolina public school staffers and 15 individuals were arrested that worked in either a charter school, a non-public school, or a person who was in a non-teaching role.

Here is the list of public school education employee arrests tracked by this website in 2021. In 2020, this website reported on 29 such arrests.

The list of the charter or non-public/non-teaching arrests can be viewed here.

One of the individuals, Tyrus Khali Cromartie, plead guilty in June to taking indecent liberties with a minor. Cromartie does not appear on the N.C. State Board of Education’s teacher licensing revocation list and licensing records show his teaching license is still active:

According to the educator discipline records on file with the N.C. State Board of Education, there were 18 teachers who faced license-related disciplinary actions between Jan. 2021 and Nov. 2021.
